    It looks like you were typing in the passive voice (initial sentence fragment was probably "that is used"), made a passive verb active to get rid of the passive voice in your writing (a noble goal!) but forgot to remove the 'is.'

    Can someone fix that?

    otherwise, it sounds quite interesting, though I wonder how far Hadnagy goes into NLP and if the book provides any examples in the context of social engineering. Most of those techniques need to be executed in person, and exposing your face can be a risk.

    A company notorious about being tightlipped on new stuff in development can't trust their Chinese partner company and gets scooped by the Grey Lady.

    I can't help but think this is an olive branch of sorts to the very nations embarrassed by wikileaks. "Here are your white collar criminals. Here is your money. Let's go easy on Julian, shall we?"

    And as to your assertion that these aren't criminals: I don't know if this is flamebait (probably!) or heart-felt opinion but this is a clear-cut case of people getting around a law, be it "Right" (in the categorical imperative, universally just sense) or wrong. Get caught? Get punished.

    LM totally bid for this contract; I wouldn't doubt that Northrop did, as well (or general dynamics, or...).

    And this is one of those situations where I don't know if LM is laughing at the failure of a competitor, or breathing a sigh of relief because it would have been THEM in the papers with a failed contract on their hands...

    It was an aggressive plan for integrating technology that just wasn't ready for it.

    A poorly implemented compiler can "break" rendesvous. We had a training class in ADA and we used the GNAT compiler; it was not-so-real-time, and you basically had to code around it.

    Given the flakiness of connecting Entourage to an Exchange server, where I could get all my e-mails but not send anything (?!) I just stopped trying.

    Having half-working software is far worse than none at all.

    Basically it means he can tell a police officer he's never been arrested and doesn't need to disclose it on a non-clearance employment application or any "low grade" background check like rentin an apartment.

    ANd the best feature of all, a timer. And not just an alarm clock (which it does have) but a "ring 10/30/60/ minutes from now" timer, and it's only 4 keystrokes TOTAL (my old nokia had me set the time and date and it took 12+ keystrokes).
