    talking about this like its new news? It's like every three months people forget and have to report it again. This has been constantly reported since at least since 1997.

    This is why I think there's some kind of mind control going on in the windows OS environment that keeps people from remembering this story. Thats why only alternate OS (Mac Linux etc) users really remember it month to month. Oh well, I guess it gives C-Net something to publish.

    I love how the web has made every Kook with a website an "Editor"--and a reasonable source for story on a scientific topic.

    I totally understand your skepticism, (I had the same thought when I started the development of the channel for my client.)

    What I didn't realize was the number of diplomats, politicians, defense contractors, scientists, policymakers, speech writers, journalists, etc. who all like to be able to quote the most recent numbers for how many Nukes North Korea has pointed at South Korea. And these people all use palm pilots.

    I've got to say, I'm a fan of AvantGo's service but not their client relations. I spent months trying to establish a channel through them, (I was practiaclly begging to pay them money) and they just about ignored me. And this channel wasn't schlock either, it was up-to date news information on the status of nuclear nonproliferation worldwide.

    I never have figured out how that business plan works. Ignore your customers and make them beg you to provide them service. We'll, I guess it works for my cable isp anyway.

    We look at someting differently when we call it spam. If spam is an unsolicited advertisment that I receive on my cell phone or computer, then I also get about 3 spams per day on my land-line phone.

    I live in Washington. The cameras are here to protect us. You must love and obey the cameras.

    So, under FOIA the content of the tapes of all these cameras is public property right? That' will be very useful to future in-the-beltway memoirs-writers.

    I'm familliar with the emotions that lead you to make this post, but you should think a little more carefully before making such rash generalizations. In most countries in the world, you wouldn't even be provided a forum to make such a statement.

    Hell, Australia has banned the videogame grand theft auto 3.

    In the U.S. banning any form of media on a federal level is nearly (not completely) impossible.

    Yes, i've got his troop.cgi program tucked away on my hard drive. On december 26th of 1999 he hacked our website ( http://www.foreignpolicy.com) and posted this page:

    I imagine that troop.cgi progam is sitting on more than 3 webservers out there.
