    The similarities that the author of the review that alludes to a hint of suspicion of influence and or plaigarism is retarded. Most content is recycled and reissued. There isn't much in original ideas or plots...its how those plots are developed and examined that make the difference.

    but gentoo has stated that thier distro is more oriented to the more capable linux types. So if you know gaim doesnt need it. Dont install the deps.

    though i totally agree with the spirit of the post and maybe portage will have that capability someday...uneeded upgrades are always risky

    yes my optical, cheapy little memorex 15$ thing works great. Never had any problems with games at all.....

    Now, I had another usb optical that under windows sucked ass....so who knows.

    are you kidding? With the new scheduler and premption how can you not notice 2.6? Get two kernel images, one 2.4 and one 2.6 and have them up in Lilo ready for loading. There is a difference. It may be hard to measure but its easy to *feel*. Kind of like KDE3.2rc1, it feels much better than 3.1.5 did....

    Alsa and everything is just part of it too but that stuff is great...it seems like it took less work to get a lot of functions up and going running 2.6.1 than it would have under 2.4.....

    umm the main issue is the changing of editions with little discernable difference between them...the professors feed into, as they get free copies from publishers. There really is no need for a new text book every year, or even better- every semester.

    I only run linux and so run a few games under it...U T, NWN,Q3, etc. But that list you posted doesnt count for shit. 3d Pong? Come on now.

    NWN on Linux was the greatest thing...finally getting a nonFPS game. Hopefully more will follow.

    ummm same problem that getting cars to switch to alternative energy sources has:
    it would have to pretty much be a massive all at once switch
