On a marketing basis, this doesn't seem like a wise decision.
First, you already have excellent name recognition. Second, you have to change all of your existing advertisement methods. Third, you lose the product standard. What if Xerox became Xenix or something? We don't "Or-Something" or documents! We Xerox them.
Of course, most people have probably already said this. I hope they kept their old trademarks. They'll probably regret this down the line.
In light of the budget crisis, does the candidate consider illegal imigration into the state of California a problem? If so, does she intend to crack down on it?
Likewise, will the funding of benefit programs to imigrants (legal or otherwise) be cut, maintained, or increased?
although it neglects to say how we're all expected to bend over while our fair use of stuff we paid for is taken away from us.
Simple. Don't buy the damned content! Everyone complains that the music is crap, so don't buy it at all.
Support a local band, or download legit Napster songs and send donations to the authors. If you hate the RIAA and their draconian practices, starve them to death, and listen to something worthwhile.
Yeah sure. I'm just going to let them waltz into my home and check my hardware for hacks.
Contracts or no, nobody comes into my house without my permission or without a legal warrant. Unless the MPAA and their ilk can get the second ammendment repealed, there's no way they can get into my home.
Then again, I already boycott and buy no movies, DVDs or players.
My own "geek house" is a little short on geeks (only two), but it's completely equipped for as many as eight ethernet terminals.
The house is internally wired with Cat5, with jacks in every conceivable room. I also have six built PCs and a server installed. Cable is rigged (courtesy of the cable company) for Internet.
It's not perfect, but it's a very nice system. It's really nice when inviting some friends over for a LAN party. No need to bring your PCs, I already have six.
Amazon's patent of one-click shopping may be "lame," but it is still an authorized patent. It is therefore required by law to license it if you want to use a "one-click" shopping interface.
1984 is about government getting into our private lives. If governments weren't corrupt, corporations wouldn't have the power to be corrupt.
Splitting up the 500 richest corporations and giving the money to the public isn't going to solve any problems. We should have more freedom to skirt around these ridiculous laws, not make laws to strip away more freedom (elect Harry Browne)
Does this make it right? Just because nine people say that I cannot say what I want to does not mean that they're right.
Freedom of speech is not something the government can take away. It is an inalienable right, granted by the fact that you exist.
Why do governments want to treat rights like privaledges? Because it limits freedom, making it easier for them to sieze more power. If they ilegalize treasonous speech, they undermine any attempt at rebellion.
Nonsense. My company is a small business with less than thirty employees. We use Netware 5.0, and have used Netware 3.1 and Netware 4.1 in the past. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Sure.
All those years of using Windows has done one thing for me. I fixed this threat before it happened at my company.
The fix is actually quite easy, and will work until the next version comes out. All I did was use the MS Outlook "rules system" to create a "rule" that deleted any messages with an "ILOVEYOU" subject. My users never saw the message at all.
It did come a little too late. One of the execs lost 4500 JPGs from his hard drive. Wonder what THOSE could've been? (EG)
I'm just kidding. They were just his vacation pics.
The only other regulation we need is guaranteed low-cost access for anyone, like basic telephone service. No matter where they live in rural or remote areas. Tax the high-speed access people for this. Yeah, it's taxes. Deal with it.
What? You want to tax the privaledged to give internet access to those who can't afford it? That's lunacy!
There's no WAY I'd be willing to pay a tax on my cable modem so some poor slob can have internet access. If he doesn't live in an area with telephones, tough. If he doesn't have a PC, tough. If he can't afford $20 a month, he should use NetZero or AltaVista. His ability to get online isn't my concern.
Feeling rather agitated because this already happens with my income.
The U-Gate 3000 has been powering my home connection for a long time now. My 6 PCs all have shared access through 10/100 Ethernet. DHCP, NAT and other services work too.
I've used Mandrake as my only distro ever since I got into using Linux. I really like the i586-enhanced compiled binaries, but I really miss the ability to use Netware servers with an easy client/server application.
Is Mandrake planning on including such apps the way Debian is? This would be another big plus for Mandrake, IMHO.
Nice network you got there. It'd be a shame if something happened to it. Like a security hole getting exploited, right Vinnie?
So, if I'm alive in 5 billion years, I'll die in a fiery red version of our sun.

Well, it's not like most geeks need that bit.

Apple is doing the right thing in this case.
I don't think that *MS* stands for Microsoft.

This is gonna be cool. I've got to get a pair of scimitars and go after Balors now.
Why stop there? Stop buying videos, and don't go to theaters either. Boycotting DVDs won't help if you don't take it all the way.

Bah. The DBZ english televised episodes are often quite poor.
Get DBZ in it's purest form: manga!
English translations at Planet Namek.

LDraw has been around since early 97. LDraw has several thousand parts available, and a lot of GPL add-on programs.

It seems that Finalfantasy.com was Slash-dotted!
Oh well, I'm looking forward to it anyway. Terra and FF6 rule!!!

Keep Mandrake coming!

I will continue to read the daily paper (the Orlando Sentinal in my area) until there are no longer insightful and provacative editorials.
I don't need a paper for the latest news. I get that from the radio. I want to read the thoughtful opinions of the gifted writers out there.
In my case, I like to read Charley Reese every other day. His ultra-conservative-ism is a breath of fresh air to me.
Wish I had that when I had to confront my ISP guys!
*Whaddaya mean NO DSN?*
Lock and load!
BTW, if you care to see my own Lego stuff, check out my website.
It's about time for me. I love Starcraft more than any other game!
