I just got a call from an 'independent' survey company and about half way through I realized that it was sponsored by Verisign. They asked me all these questions about registering domain names and stuff really seemed to focus on Network Solutions/Verisign. They asked me how I would rate them and I said 1 (worst) and she acted kind of suprised. She had me explain why I felt that way and I said that they have jacked domain name registration and certificate pricing through the roof and that I strongly object to their SiteFinder service. Maybe some of you other guys will get the call as well. Sock it to em.
I'm 29 years old and weighed 496lbs 4 weeks ago. As of this morning (I weigh on saturdays after waking up) I weigh 480lbs. I'm averaging 1750 calories a day right now and it seems to be working well. I'm taking delivery of a recumbent cardio bike today and hopefully that will get me to around 5 or 6lbs a week. I've been obese my entire life and never really had a problem carrying my weight cuz I'm 6'6" but now that I'm getting older the pain is starting. Hopefully I can stick with it. That or I'm probably going to kick the bucket alot sooner than my friends and family would like.
pre-SCO Caldera was pretty vocal about not thinking that a business could be sustained on GPL software. These guys are really starting to sound like M$ puppets. Wonder how long before SCO has another license agreement (pay off) with M$.:)
I stopped buying cd's regularly when they started charging 18-19 bucks each for them. What a rip off. They have no concept of Supply and Demand. Any other industry would lower prices to meet demand in hopes that by doing so it would spark sales. But not these idiots they just keep jacking the prices up to try to cover their record setting overhead.
1. only have a 2-3 minute commercial break every 15 minutes. 2. don't ever show the same commercial twice during the same tv show commercial break (this is what annoys me the most).
I was really pumped cuz i thought it would have new features. The email client functionality is still miles behind something as basic as Outlook Express. It is way faster though I'll give them that.
We bought a display model tandy tl2 (286/8Mhz, no HD, and 386k of ram hehe) when I was a kid and it came with a box of floppy disks. One of the floppy disks was used and had the first disk (demo) of Sierra's 'Hero's Quest: So you want to be a Hero' (the original 16 color one). I ran it and it played the demo. I was completely awe-struck. That started my addiction to computers. But I remember being terrified of running into an Ogre those things would mop up the floor with you if you were'nt good enough:) Sierra also had this.75/minute cheat line you could call. Man, my parents just about killed me when they got the first phone bill.
More recent would be the DOOM games in college, we used to hook my computer up to my stereo with 15" woofers, crank up the juice, go into GOD mode and use the chain gun. It sounded like a Mob hit was taking place in the dorm.
the fact that they have jacked the prices way up on cd's either? I used a giftcard at a popular gift/music store this weekend and got 2 cd's for my $40. Now that is just WRONG. This is the first time I've bought cd's in over a year and its left a bad taste in my mouth. I own several hundred CD's and it was not too long ago when cd's could be had for HALF of what they are trying to sell them for now. I honestly can't believe these bands, that have become successful, can sleep at night. If the record companies really believe they need this much for a CD then they are doing something wrong or have way too much overhead. It all just makes me really sad.
This is a perfect example of why I will never buy a Mac. I'll admit OSX looks decent but I refuse to buy hardware that is only available through a single company. AFAIK, Apple is just as bad or worse, at corning people into proprietary solutions, than Microsoft.
When I can get any cd I want for 10 bucks + shipping/tax I'll start buying again. The whole mp3 thing turned me into a CD buying freak! And then the industry started jacking up the prices I stopped buying dead in my tracks. I hope the entire record industry takes a huge dump and they have to start over from scratch.
I'm actually glad they didn't wrap everything up. I don't care if they end the best TV show of all time as long as they keep making movies. How long after ST:TNG ended did we wait for the first movie?
Has anyone else noticed that its IMPOSSIBLE to find new music at reasonable prices these days? I have a real problem with the fact that I can get any DVD I want for around 10 bucks shipped but can't seem to locate a copy of a newly released CD for less than 12-13 shipped. The music industry is a joke. I was buying tons of music back when I was active in the MP3 community but with all this RIAA, price fixing and copy protection bullshit it has all just left a bad taste in my mouth.
.. with the older models. I'm an owner of a 3030 and they have effectivly STOPPED improving this model. Atleast tivo people might still get improvements to their software from time to time.
My biggest gripe with my 3030 is that it doesn't keep track of shows its already recorded. If you setup a horror movie theme channel it will record the same damn movies over and over unless they are already recorded and on the harddrive. I mean how many freaking times does the thing need to record 'Boltneck'
I'm sick of all this BS about IBM being pro Linux. There is absolutely no reason why IBM can't atleast release binary drivers for all its hardware. Example: My A21p 2926HWU, the 3COM software modem does not function under linux. I am happy that 90% of my new laptop functions under linux but it still chaps me that a company that is supposed to be so pro-linux has any consumer hardware that only functions under windows. I realize that I'm a dumb ass for not making 100% sure that the modem functioned, but you can blame that on IBM's vague product descriptions on their website.
Dear god I'm a sap. I have to be honest, after being an x-files fan since the beginning all I really care about, at this point, is wanting to know that the, obvious, mulder/scully romance is going to go somewhere. I know there is a hug scene in the season ender. Will it lead to the infamous 'bee sting' scene from the movie? I swear guys I usually could care less about this stuff. Man, maybe I should start watching soaps.;)
I've had one of these on order for 3 months now. www.mambox.com, for those who are curious. I'm beginning to think that they entire thing was vaporware. They allowed their distributors to start taking preorders in january (Direct411.com) and about 3 weeks ago direct411 called me and asked if i was still interested in keeping my order. I haven't been billed or anything, thats about the only reason I havent complained too much.
Now we can get rid of that freakin moon that hogs all the good sky. ;)
Fedora just doesn't feel as solid as RH9. Oh well whatdiyagunnado :) It is free after all.

Its pretty obvious that it was shot down by aliens ;)
LOWER PRICES!!! Jezuz. How hard is that to understand. I stopped buying cd's when they wen't from 10-12 each to 12-19. Wake up! :)

I didn't even know this was going on!! Has it been on the local news? I'm going contact the local news stations about it.

"you can read more at the ever untrustworthy Drudge Report" I know _a lot_ of people who think the exact same thing about slashdot :-/
