I'd always thought it was the stressing times, high pressure on these kids and unreasonable expectations combined with the lack of real attention from their parents which gets substituted by virtual education in schools and such that leads these kids to be less caring. I've also thought of teenagers as generally not giving a flying fuck about the world (if i remember correctly, i used to be one myself). Seems like these hippies are really turning into todays nazis. I'm sure the kids will thank them for it later, what with the aging population and all ... be careful who you opress dear hippies, they might have to change your diapers someday ...

I've been gaming since my commodore 64, it's still my main hobby and i think i will die gaming (since real swords and guns seem to be illegal these days). I think you should re-evaluate pc-gaming. I hardly ever have any trouble with pc games (except the odd alien vs. predator or some other franchise that tries to sell by name alone). But you could be right in stating that you need a gfx card that costs at least as much as an xbox 360 arcade console ... only reason why i got an xbox 360 is cos i can't play games like Tekken or Mortal Kombat vs. DC on my pc since they simply don't exist for that platform (and maybe cos the Xbox is , well..., adaptable and has its own underground scene)... stuff like CoD4 and MW2 runs flawlessly, actually putting consoles to shame since any fps is best played with mouse and keyboard (response time, try turning 225 with an xbox gamepad, then try the same with a mouse on a decent game pc, see who's faster) As usual, it's just all about the Benjamins baby :)

I mean, the music industry has been going broke since the invention of the cassette recorder and STILL we have to put up with Tokyo Hotels and Lady Gagas and man ... you should see the megastructure Kinepolis movie theatre built recently in Gent(Belgium), i bet they built that with all the losses they made from piracy as well. Imho, a lot of small businesses are going down or having a hard time, but that's not because of piracy, it's because of the giant microsofts and McDonalds from the entertainment 'industry' hogging all the cash so there's nothing left for the small ones ... plain and simple business, but we all know it's always easy if you have a witch to blame, no ?

Taking even just a peek outside your comfortable world seems to be very scary which would explain why thinking about abstract concepts such as future and all that would be extremely difficult as would taking responsability for your denial of the present state of events.

i 2n, 3r and 4th that. Child pornography as such is not available on the simple internet. It is a highly specialized underground network which cannot be accessed without authorization of one of the sociopaths that run it. That is, ofcourse, unless you count movies of 40 year old milfs with pigtails getting drilled as 'child'-pornography ? It's just another way to trick the dumb mass into their own dismissal of their right to privacy. It worried me greatly that such a thing is actually considered in European countries. I know we have a special unit that occupies itself with cybercrime here but as far as i know, other than sites that are blacklisted, no censorship exists on the internet in Belgium ... and frankly, i (and we) would very much like to keep it that way. Withholding information from your citizens in the digital age is holding them back in their development.
