if anything, it would serve to show that diplomats arent the untouchable holy men they are portraid to be (if anyone still actually believes that, my guess is lots of ppl don't really, but my guess is lots of people really never even thought about it). Abandoning amazon is easy, lots of alternatives. Abandoning paypal? what's the alternative if you dont want to give in to the credit card mafia ?

true, i know that logic, if you don't want people to be killed in a war, just take away the press and cameras and no one will die anymore. Out of sight out of mind, big problem with this sensitive stuff is that a lot of people don't want to know, they're happy in ignorance, it feels safer not thinking about the realities of war and terrorism than to look it in the eye and know that somewhere that stuff is real, everyday life. I still side with what wikileaks does even if assange might have become a bit of a pr-dick

yes, a system that lets me skip all ads by default so i can only browse those i need when i'm looking for something specific is just what i would prefer as well, anything else feels forced down my throat and will keep me more and more away from the website since being forced to watch something is terribly annoying

Have you noticed that islam has no symbols you can lash out at? No icons or depictions? not that i would relate islam to oppressive regimes ofcourse, i'm just saying... the man is the scapegoat, the organisation was there before the site, the site just gave it an outlet to the greater public that never cared to look for the information in the first place. Public disobedience (as we call it here) is necessary to uphold true democracy, as is absolute free speech. Absolute power makes absolutely corrupt unless you're superhuman.(from what i can see the piratebay looks still pretty up and running, is this so they can sue more people for more money or was this the only intent they had from the start?) justice is defined by the rulers, that's one of the reasons why revolutions happen
