And running how many local businesses out of business, because of unfair competition? No surprising that an anonymous coward would back the huge corporation, in favor of small business owners in Texas.
The point is why should Amazon not pay taxes when local bookstores in Texas have to? It's unfair competition, which is what large corporations want. How many local businesses went under because they couldn't compete? Just pay your damned taxes, like everyone else and STFU. No taxes = no modern society. That is just a basic fact.
From everything I've read, Hotz didn't actually do the work to get the master key, and basically tried to take credit for other people's efforts. I wonder if he still wants to take the credit?
I've been saying for years that if We The People want some representation in government, we really need to pool our funds and hire a powerful lobbying firm to represent us!
That was very annoying. I bought UT3 also thinking there would be a Linux client for it. They even showed screenshots of it running in Linux, at one point. Frankly I've given up on Epic Games. It's a shame they went the way they did because every PC game they made until the UT3 engine had Linux clients. The thing I'm curious about is if id will actually follow through with a Linux client for Rage. Since they're not an independent shop anymore, I hope it doesn't impact Linux clients, and source code releases.
Linux servers, that run on command line don't have these issues. I know this is shocking to some people, but 99.99% of the world doesn't really give a shit about what you have on your home pc's hard drive. Security is good, but paranoia isn't. Anyone that actually cares about safeguarding their data won't be running a server with a GUI on it anyway. Even the Apache Foundation had to learn this the hard way.
Based on what? The fact that she's the first lady, or married to a Democrat, or that she tried to get kids to eat healthy, which in PalinLand is an assault on our liberties?
If the measure of success in our society, is to work for corporations that would treat their employees like chattel, then I'll always be proud to be a "loser".
Depends on your definition of "choice" Does the average user care about the choice "to use free software that doesn't have patents", or about the choice to "watch this video I wanted to see"?
I eagerly await a wall of text explaining why this is actually an evil move by MS, and how.h264 is the devil's codec that will steal the internet from all of us!
I'll be glad when we have better answers than "the big bang". It explains the cosmic background radiation, but presents more questions than it answers, and I simply don't think it's accurate.
Steam supports online and offline saves, saving key binds, (TF2, L4D2, and the HL2 games hve done that for a long time). Not all 3rd parties use the feature though.

Another corporation that doesn't want to pay its share...
Considering that these days, around 870 of those are just Ubuntu remixes, I'd say no. :D
If Ubuntu disappeared tomorrow would the Debian team notice?

Now ask yourself. Who exactly isn't relevant?

Yes because this will surely bring down the world of Open Source for good!

Poor Randall Flagg...
Well that's the nice thing about Linux though. No one is forcing you to use those features.

You mean the group that uses the image of a theocratic Catholic terrorist, as their symbol of freedom, are really just a bunch of morons? I'm SHOCKED!

Now the people telling you exactly what apps you can and can't use, partner with people that tell you exactly what to think.
1984 indeed. iTelescreen.
Yeah just ask Google, they'll be honest!
If you're using Chrome, you've already proven you don't care about the app phoning home.
