Sounds like a good argument form my un-trained perspective. I'm cautious of all the big companies as they grow more powerful, regarding what they'll do with things such as patents. I'm certainly less wary of Google than the others though...
I don't think so at all. I think this is Google playing it smart and getting in position to make some big moves, although I can't in any way speculate on what, I'm no tech expert. But that being said, based on their latest stuff, they haven't stopped running out of ides.
I agree with you on that... definitely don't think drivers need another distraction but.. otoh.. for passenger windows in the rear seating of an SUV or minivan, it might work for the entertainment purposes, like for kids. Don't know if it's a good idea but it's better than anything to do with putting that on a winshield.
I'm happy all around. Switched to streaming for $7.99. Heck we forget about the dvds we have around for months anyway. We have basic cable through our apartment complex anyway and so we're set. The stupid movie channels suck anyway and I find there are no comparable services anywhere. What is is with everyone, not wanting to pay for companies that actually do give them great stuff!?
For myself I'm not unhappy and I'm with the people that understand their move. The fact is, we've moved from watching dvds lately anyway and although we have cable movies, Netflix has just enough streaming movies and shows to fill that out. I think if you really look at this, it's a wise move as people either now or in the future will be one type of viewer or another. DVDs for some people are very important and for another, it's streaming. That's my $.02. Also we've been spoiled in having both services and truthfully with their offering streaming they've added a new cost to their infrastructure with offering constant streaming of movies on demand, which is a whole new tier IMO. I think they have the right to charge more and it remains a fact that they still have the best selection, and their streaming offerings are growing all the time so.. Ok $.03.;)
I do understand the initial feeling of price hikes of any kind given the way a lot of companies do this -- (cable companies, telephone...) but they do that without actually offering a heck of a lot more.
This is unlikely IMO. Take some of the latest games, though few, that have split screen co-op and still have great frame rates and graphics. Borderlands is one that comes to mind, on the PS3. That game blows that theory away. Amazing split-screen action, awesome environments and graphics too. Up to 4 players. Both online and split screen co-op action. No, I don't think the limitations of the consoles is the culprit. I think it's just the fact that every developer team seems to believe that multiplayer online replaces split screen and is better. I just think they are forgetting that there are a lot of people that would like to also play with their buddies and loved ones in the same room in spite of enjoying online multiplayer.
Of course, considering that rather than fixing gameplay flaws in their "big patch," Square Enix instead offered the ability to customize chat colors, I highly doubt that they'll actually fix their world. But it's nice to see that it can be done by MMO companies with a spine.
2 things: over simplification - There are far more things that SE has been making updates to in the game if you actually followed the development. If you're going to make statements about the game criticizing it, you should know what you're talking about. You can get your facts straight here: http://www.ffxivcore.com/ where they always update the newest developments. (but I know you won't look)
The idea that Blizzard is a company that has such a strong spine or has more guts, I would argue against. Honestly, nothing in what Wow's newest expansion adds is innovative, new or overwhelmingly exciting. It is new only in that it changes the content. Doesn't make it better or improve graphics, game mechanics or any such thing. If anything they continue to nerf the game so that more people can join that don't have to think and play. It was never a difficult game but now its downright elementary.
If you look at the site, EA does answer the question about further installations beyond the initial 3. In fact, they even hint at they will authorize more installs based on case by case. Besides, even with authorized computers, you can always de-authorize and install on a new computer.. dang..:shakes head:

Agreed. 100%.

Everyone who plays WoW knows rouges are overpowdered.
OMFG! If I was drinking something I would have had liquid coming out my nose! And I might add playED wow, in my case.
