gOS sucks. I was about 2 minutes into things and wanted to remove some of the icons from the 'dock'. I right-clicked - hit 'delete' (or maybe remove) and the whole dock disappeared! Ooops. A few more unintuitive things like that and I ended up formatting it and installed Edubuntu. Installing Flash took about 1 minute. Added a few other things TuxPaint, etc and was ready to go.
I'd buy another Thinkpad. I got a Z60 in December - so far the only problem I've had was a missing power cord for the docking station. I called and was promptly drop shipped a new cable.
In contrast - I've had two HP's that I've had to ship back - one took 2 weeks to return, was still broken when I got it back - shipped it again - waited another two weeks, got it back again still broken, then a day later I got a 'new' refurbished laptop in the mail - no explanation.

I read an article somewhere it was my understanding the 45 degree shots were taken from planes so unless they spend a LOT of $$ in aerial photography I imagine only major cities will get this treatment.
I also don't see a great use for the 45 degree shots other than they look pretty.
Right on! WTF happened to having the 'right stuff' - not you gotta have the 'right safety stuff'
WTF? Basically you are strapping yourself to a large freakin controlled BOMB. There will ALWAYS be risks. I'll sign a waiver and go right now as I'm sure would most folks including the current crew.
Just launch the damn thing NASA, or get out of the way so someone else can do it...
As my Mom always said "S--t or get off the pot..."
Read. Maybe read it again if yer slow. Sounds like the guy was simply trying to raise a few bucks to support what is IMO one of the best blogging apps out there.
I help organize NCDevCon (ncdevcon.com)
We're a small, two day web/mobile/tech conference in Raleigh, NC. This is our 6th year.
This area also hosts:
* http://allthingsopen.org/ (Open source conference)
* http://hopscotchdesignfest.com/ (design festival)
Good area for conferences, tech (RedHat, RTP), beer and BBQ.
I was pumped when I got my Quake Live notice...
Quick games of Quake at lunch.
Nope. Apparently although it runs in a browser it does use some of the old odd ports so at work it's blocked by our firewall.
Oh well I can try it at home!
Get home - fire up Ubuntu - login - and get a message Quake Live isn't supported on my operating system.
Argh!
Another distraction for idiot cage drivers.
Here's an idea...
Hang up the phone.
Put away your makeup.
Read the newspaper at home.
And LOOK OUT YOUR FREAKIN WINDOWS.
Am I a terrorist... or just constipated?
Thanks for the reminder of why I no longer fly anywhere.
I got the kids one for Xmas.

Kids are happy!
I'll wait for the movie to come out...
Important updates need to be installed before proceeding.
Please install updates and then restart.
Have a nice flight.
Ideally it seems like you could take an inflatable up there - deploy it and then spray it with something to harden the exterior...

WTF? What happened - the Iranians are now developing satellites? al-Qaeda? What a waste of money.

Yeah - it would be interesting to know if they ship it with any kind of driver for the ATI.
I enjoyed the latest Doom. I do think though they could notch the engine back just a bit and increase characters. Serious Sam does it...
And I am really PO that the monsters don't fight each other. That was the best part of the old id series...
Somehow I don't think we'll ever see Mac OS X on a $399 PC at Walmart. I can't see how this is in anyway a threat to Linux...

it would be a great place to hide the space lasers behind...
Moon Hummer. Mars Hummer. The mind boggles.
I had a 1969 bug that got 25-28mpg. In 36 years that can't do better than 2-3mpg better?
That's utterly pathetic.

Until it blows up. Or your software contract expires. Or we decide it's time to 'upgrade'.
Then you are on your own.
Quit using the term "SPAM" - it's either a can of meat of unsolicited email.
Neither really apply here.

Aren't they going into space next??
We visited a few years ago and it's great to see it inside. An awesome display. If you are inspired by things mechanical and have never visited - go!
When I try to hit any of the recently updated or new blogs - the page times out...
