    Yes, corporations should pay higher taxes. But, if you force them to pay higher taxes, they'll move, and take the jobs/money with them. So they should pay higher taxes, but if we charge higher taxes, were screwed anyway.

    Yep. The mainstream journalistic sources are garbage. NYT, forbes etc are so influenced by corporate management that anything they write is slanted to their views. They go for sensationalism and blow off little things like facts.

    I saw a post from this linux torvalas dude.
    A month later I bought a PC.

    I had minix floppys running, had the file system built and had been starting to build the gnu tools, and a co-worker Joe showed me SLS.

    A week later, a bunch of us in the office made a bulk order for 200 floppies. It was much easier! It started as something like 15ish floppies, and was 70something floppys before the cd version came out.

    Say what you will about the big telcos that have buildings and pop's in the area. They won't provide broadband. Yes they're there and selling services to businesses. they won't touch broadband though. That would create competition. The only way to open up competition will be to encourage small business to come in and provide a better product. The telco's would rather spend money on lobbyists then put fiber in the ground.

    The problem is that security holes show up in the screws. one day, instead of holding secure, they get smooth and so they have to do a security update. If they kept the same flathead design, so you could use the same damned screwdriver, then replacing the screw wouldn't be a issue. So you end up not having a choice, you have to buy the new screwdriver.

    Of course I don't have that problem. I switched to mint screws. I can still use my flat screwdriver.

    Agree in part, but as long as 80% of the voters watch Fox News and attack ads and do what the rest of the 80% of America tells them to do we're going to end up with more of the same.

    It's not just Fox News. CNN, MSNBC ABC are all pumping out filtered garbage too. It's sad, but the US is now the land of the sheep. Almost nobody thinks for themselves. The first amendment has become a joke, because the corporations have been allowed to buy all the news outlets, and they only let you see what they want you to see.

    I've been following the trial on groklaw and the news. This judge has less then impressed me. She did a lot of things that I question. That being said, I'm not a expert on courts and the law. But, with what I've seen, I question whether she will overturn this jury. I think it should, just on the public comments from the jury, but the whole trial sounded to me like they were railroading samsung.
    We'll see how things turn out...
