    is there in the composition and the structure of the rock/dust on the moon, is it all the same? i would imagine this is a key point if you are going to make bricks out of it, imagine having a fool proof plan to make bricks out of sandstone when you moved somewhere and only finding granite

    Wiki says the glass is leaded which is understandable, but surely they are not going to be trying to extract the lead from the glass, just the circuit board (from the summary 'heat circuit boards over coal fires to recover lead'), is there really still 7lbs just in the circuit board?

    i agree, i use WEP on an ad-hoc to share internet to my girlfriend in the flat, and i can monitor the traffic from the computer to make sure nothing is awry, i use it over WPA for the same reason you list, and my parents use WEP with their router, again because some computers still seem unable to play nicely with WEP.

    and to be honest, its not like WPA is uncrackable, and if someone knows how to get through WEP they can probably figure how to get through WPA in the end. I think that for most people, security on the home network its just to keep curious neighbours from stumbleing in, rather that over concern that some terrorist is going to be sitting in a van outside using their network to help execute their plans to destroy the world

    they are polarised one way, i think you parent means that it displays two polarisations each with a different image, then glasses with a different polarised lens in each eye will let through different images to allow a 3D effect

    last time i checked, the i7 boards had 6 ram slots, for an easy 12GB. Also im pretty sure its possible to find boards with atleast 3 PCI-E slots, so they are missing an extra graphics card there. 6 SATA slots is also do-able, so with one to the BD burner, that leaves 5 for a raid 5 SSD config to give 1TB of SSD. And only one screen? 3 cards means 6 screens, i feel they missed some obvious extras

    its how easy it is to play well, specifically w.r.t pvp, i dont want to join a game and straight away start getting 'pwnd' by everyone else before ive had a chance to figure out the controls, but that needs to be weighed up against having it so easy to play well that theres no challenge

    dark market was the name of the sting website, not neccecerily the operation, how likely are you to hear the name of an operation at a time such that you can know its something related to what you are doing, where would a meth dealer have herd someone say 'operation icebreaker'?

    would you like to give them the legal right to disrupt any website they felt fit before they had enough evidence to proove wrong doing. If there is wrong doing then gather evidence and prosecute and shut down for good, if there isnt wrong doing, leave it, dont cause disruption just because someone has a hunch, or whatever other motives any paranoids/conspiricists/etc would like to add

    afaik there are plenty of phones on the market that have speech recognition such as speaking 'mum' and it will auto dial, ive never used them so i dont know what sort of quality they are at atm but that seems to me like it would be a better way of doing things, since it also means you wouldnt need to memorise every number you might need

    are there any blind /.-ers whom might be more qualified to give an opinion?

    i would assume accuracy of mal intent detection only refers to false negatives and true positives (so 22% would be the fraction of false negatives, rather than false positives), it says nothing of the false positives (or true negatives, but they are not of much interest) which could be anything if no numbers are otherwise provided

    leaves reflect green, which means they must absorb at the blue and red ends of the spectrum, if they absorb it then it is likely they are making use of it

    just my wallet. I got a set of LED GU10 bulbs for the flat because when we got in there were two fittings of 4x50W bulbs each, and with the energy saving from some LED replacements (~£10 for 4 at ~2W ea, normally ~£5ea but i found a deal) easily paid the difference, especially since i was having trouble finding CFL replacemetns. However they definately give off significantly less light than the 50W halogens, which is fine most of the time as i prefer a dimmer light usually, but can be a little frustrating if i find myself needing a little extra to look for something, The light is alot 'whiter' which took a couple of days to get used to but is fine now. They are also very directional, they light up one area very well, but are quite poor outside that area, so fine if you are after light in a particular area (they are often advertised as for lighting up some piece of art you want attention drawn to) but not so good if you want to illuminate a room.

    rather than the whole computer, i see no reason why consumer computers need ever get any smaller than a phone if you want it portable, or small enough to be fitted to the back of a screen for desktops

    i believe some dams release water through the turbines during peak times, then pump it back up off peak at night with excess cheap electricity ready for the next day, is that not a reasonable form of energy storage? i imagine a similar level of energy storage in anything recognisable as a battery would be insanely expensive and/or involve alot of toxic chemicals

    its well known in the uk that exam standards have been falling year after year, exam boards make their exams slightly easier, so that the students taking that one get better grades, so more people use that board over one of their competitors, and its just a downward spiral, its ruining our education, universities are having to work harder and harder to teach students what they would have come in knowing a few years ago. The universities cant let their standards slip so it just gets harder and harder for the students that actually go to university, while making those who stop at a-level seem better than they really are compared to those who sat the 'same' exams a few years ago
