    In the post 911 world, terrorist groups would start off small, and make things like this commonplace, so no one would think about them. Pull your head out of your ***.

    The older HP lasetjets ROCK. A LaserJet III was, and still is, the
    defacto brute force printer of the world. Sure they weigh a ton.
    You can FEEL the quality.

    That is why many companies still pay to fix them. They are built
    rock solid. The new crap, is well, crap. Smaller toner cartridges,
    worse performance etc.

    Sadly, HP seems to be going the way of the dinosaurs. They make
    cheaply built crap now, at premium prices. Thanks Carly. Yes, I
    lay blame where it belongs.

    Going after the people whom the spammers are promoting
    is the best idea.

    Nip it in the bud. Spammers and those they represent or mis-represent
    would be nice.

    Failing that, the CIA could be used in clandestine hits on Spammers
    outside of the US. When they see their numbers dropping and being
    buried, they may think twice. One can only hope.

    As far as murders and rapists getting less sever sentences, get out
    and tell your representatives what you want, then VOTE.

    For me, auto theft, carjacking, kidnapping, sexual molsetation of children
    should be death penalty offenses, right behind perjury for politicians.

    Yes, I tell politicians that ALL the time. Some even respond. I do not
    think they can comprehend, but they do respond at times.

    The VHS camp simply purchased more TITLES, about 3 to one, versus Betamax.
    Most people could not see the quality difference between the two formats.

    The VHS format had more product to watch and won in the marketplace. Any
    other thoughts were superflous.

    I had both types of machines. I even had laser discs a couple of years later. Yes, I was there.

    The minivan was 'spotted' Sept 5th? But 'found' on Sept 9th? Groceries inside? When did the reciept show the groceries were purchased? Before she dropped the kids off or after? If it was after, something is fishy. Grocery store surveilance cameras?
    Hmmmmmm.

    Suppose this was 30 years ago, what would be the difference? A) no cell phones - outcome the same. B) Response time + dropped call- outcome the same. c) Charge on cell phone insufficient - outcome the same.

    The point about cell phones being used to trigger bombs, valid point. The ability to use cell phones as timing devices, valid point. The ability to help coordinate gangs of protesters or give advance warning to criminals, valid point.

    The argument about disturbing the peace in theaters, valid point. So where do we go from here?

    I think that the world survived quite well before cell phones were everywhere. This modern piece of technology has
    been both a curse and blessing. We need rational laws and built-in technology to control the use of cellular technology.

    I, for one, woulld love to see integrated into all electronically controlled cars, that the engine shuts off when a cell
    phone is activate with in an automobile, with a grace period to allow the driver to pull off the road safely, then the car would be inactive for 30 minutes. Doctors and emergency personnel need not be talking on the phone either when driving.

    Then again, I think driving while putting on make-up and eating or reading, should be outlawed also. What a Nazi I am.

    Unless you are an ACE programmer,
    with several outstanding programs
    already in the wild, Open Source
    or otherwise, I would go with
    Microsoft.

    Google is looking for talent and
    they seem to have plenty. It would
    be more difficult to stand out in
    their environment. Microsoft has
    some talented programmers, do not
    get me wrong, BUT Microsoft SEEMS
    not to really care about product
    quality.

    Just my 2 cents worth. No I do NOT
    program, unless you consider IBM 360
    assembler, programming. I do not.

    When certain groups or cultures, refuse to mainstream them selves and correct members of their own group,
    why cannot we hate them?

    I hate people who cannot abide by the law. Most other people/groups do abibe, but when the 'few' fail to
    get the message AND I really dislike(hate) them for it, it becomes against the law?

    Why do we have laws then? To hate repeat offenders or cultures that encourage repeat offenses,
    is that unusual? Bullshit. That is human nature.

    We have a system of laws to discourage this type of behavior. Now we have 'political correctness' which USURPS our rights.
    I say shoot anyone who believes there is an entity such as a "hate crime". They HAVE NO CLUE.

    Why should society repeatedly ALLOW crimimals to be assholes? Only idiots support this idea.

    I WORKED in several shops where the 'managers' thought certifications
    were the best thing in the world. Sadly, most of the people thet hired
    with 'Certifications - you name the cert' were simply test takers.

    We replaced EVERY one of those people within 2 months of their employment.
    WE ended up doing the work THEY were supposed to be able to handle.

    They can line their bird cages with certs.
