Clueless Government. Sound like a country determined to be poor.
It's not a run-of-the-mill government/country. Belarus is the last openly declared dictatorship in Europe. I don't think Comrade Lukashenko gives a crap whether the people are poor or not.
In Hungary, they send their unemployed to hard labor camps to get any government assist.
I believe the proposed legislation says that after six months of being on unemployment benefit, you must do 4 hours of public service a day to continue to receive said benefit. Hungary is a member of the European Union, there are no forced labour camps or any such Stalinist nonsense (which doesn't mean there isn't massive corruption etc., but that's another issue). Next time please inform yourself before posting idiotic shit.
Just what is your idea of Eastern Europe? Czechs and Poles living in mud huts, having trouble finding drinking water? Please educate yourself next time before making an incredibly ignorant comment.
If I remember correctly, the Windows 7 beta performed considerably faster than either the RC or finally the RTM. Windows 8 could actually get slower as development progresses.
Like many other people pointed it out, the site wasn't simply a collection of misconduct videos. It collected full names, addresses, telephone numbers, and facebook accounts of police officers that visitors then actually used to harass these said officers. I think the judge is fully justified in shutting it down, it probably broke quite a few privacy laws.
It's not a risk. You can't get sued for it. For example, video games are heavily censored in Germany, so everyone just imports them. Zero risk involved.
I doubt that covers the case where there is an injunction against the sale in one country.
The current German court decision means that if you are a retailer, you can't sell the Samsung tablet in Germany. It does not limit the free circulation of goods inside the EU, so you can very well buy it from France or Italy or Austria and have it shipped to your German address.
This freedom is one of the key principles of the European Union.
Why would it be objectively better for people to be either specialists or generalists? Not only is there room for both but both are required to keep the world going.
OK, you're right, KDE is by far the most useable of the three once you've disabled all the "semantic desktop" and "desktop activities" bullshit. But out of the box, it's just as jarring as the rest for me.
Of course, the mere fact that you can disable shitty features is a rarity these days. What happened to the Linux philosophy of personalization?
I personally find all Unity, GNOME 3, and KDE 4.6 to be unuseable. What the hell went wrong? Why reinvent the motherfucking wheel as clumsily as possible over and over again?
Seriously, what the fuck? The religious-relativist banter gets modded +4 INTERESTING and some of the best rational rebuttals get modded down to ONE? I hate to repeat myself, but what the fuck is going on?
>It wasn't long ago that Hungary was ruled by Emperor Franz Joseph.
Exactly the same amount of time that Austria was ruled by the emperor Franz Joseph. Because, you know, it used to be Austria-Hungary in 1900. I'd hardly call Austria "Eastern European". Then again, I hate the use of "Eastern European" as a blanket term because there are vast, *vast* differences in living standards between, for example, Slovenia and Belarus. Unfortunately, the stereotype seems to favour Belarus.

Don't mind me, posting to undo accidental moderation

Apparently, it now comes with reversi!
What an incredible deal!
It is a time of great innovation

Do you mean something like this?
He needs psychiatric help.
Apparently, the professional who conducted his psych evaluation disagrees.
It has nothing to do with an American IP address. You can join from any country in the world.
In more detail, the continuity of consciousness that we experience is inexplicable in a universe in which Strong AI could be true.
I know I'm going to regret asking this, but why is that?

It's funny because the technology will be long outdated by then.
Always nice to see the American Taliban hard at work...
Netflix is only available in the US & Canada. How can they have a global subscriber base?

Argh, the least convenient time for us Europeans...

I'm absolutely sure that during my first space flight (as if, ha-ha), I'm going to cry like a little bitch the whole time.

It says "Profesional" in the title of the byte.com front page. I'm not optimistic.
