It's behind the front cover of the latest issue of 'Scientific American', people... Walk over to your local newsstand or library and get some sun (the big, bright thing in the sky) while your at it.
Hmm... A 12-inch SC telescope contained in a small roof-mounted dome with servos and a CCD hooked up to your computer. With a hundered of these, we should be able to get at least half of the sky. Something like this, only smaller: http://www.ll.mit.edu/LINEAR/
Look up Lincoln, Nebraska's own (very unloved) Gerhard Lauck. [sp?]
In short: He was arrested and extridited from Belgium to Germany. His crime was producing NAZI propoganda in the USA and mailing it to neo-nazis around the world (Including Germany).
The scary thing: He was charged here with "lying on a gun permit" because he had spent time in jail that was equivalent to a felony. Whether you agree with him or not (I don't), his actions are protected speech under the Constitution. That's scary.

"This is extremely difficult to do. It's a theoretical attack," said security expert Steve Gibson, of Gibson Research
Corp. in Laguna Hills, Calif. "It's weird that they're talking about something like this. It's as old as the hills."
Er... Isn't this how Kevin Mitnick broke into Shimomura's system in San Diego? IIRC, he spoofed the sequence between a workstation and a Xterminal.

RPGs are treason freind citizen. Gates posesses traitorous knowledge and is a traitor to the Computer.
(Probably Shadowrun. That pledge doesn't make much
sense in Alpha Complex.)

$50 a pop? That's the biggest peice of bullshit I've ever seen.
Look at what's in it:
Microcontroller - $1.00 max
PROM - $.50 max
op-amp - $.50 max
crystal - $1 to $2
other small parts-$1 to $2 total
electro-optics - $2.00 max
cord - $2.00 WAG
plastic case - no clue
Now all this is just conjecture since I don't have a OEM parts catalog sitting in front of me. I would be very suprised if the cost on these exceeds $10 (you can get radios for less than that fer chrissakes!), and I think it's more around (or even less than) $5.

He is posting from a *.edu....
My *.edu accounts used to be getting a lot of spam before it leveled off to 1 or 2 a week a couple of years back. (rumor has it that spammers started filtering their lists for *.gov, *.edu, and *.mil accounts after a *.mil admin nailed one of them...)
Now, with the advent of *.tw and *.hk spammers, my spamload is up to about 10 or 20 per week.:-(

Well, just about everything beat that machine because of the timer. I played it two or three times untill it became apparent how futile it was. You couldn't get halfway through a world in Mario for chrissakes...

Animeigo is releasing a subtitle-only set of Macross. Viz(I think) is releasing Robotech. Robotech is a re-written amalmagation of three different series: Macross, Southern Cross, and one that I can't remember, by the infamous Carl Macek. I loved it when I was a kid, but when I tried to watch it on CN a couple years ago, the voices were just too annoying.

The only Turing complete languages I ever run directly as an attachment from mutt are Postscript and PDF. Would it be *possible* to write an email virus in either of these? Sounds like a challenge to me... Been done. The NeXTstep OS uses Display Postscript for the windowing system, and early versions didn't protect the rest of the system from the display. This was fixed once a proof-of-concept email was demoed which would cause the display graphics to "melt" when viewed. The holes that could cause real damage were quickly fixed.

(2)H2O2 + Ag --> (2)H2O + O2
You end up with water and oxygen (and heat)
2.Breifly explain why it is infeasible to use this reaction to power an automobile I know it's wrong, but I don't know why
A bottle of 3% H2O2 solution costs about a buck for 16 ounces at the local drugstore. Now calcuate what the 90% would cost.

By the way, some guy has managed to save the 640x480 version and has posted it up as a 26.12 meg zip file.
26.12 meg? Big whoop. It is only 27.5 meg uncompressed.
Hell, even I was able to get it using Monica, so....
Oh here is the uncompressed quicktime.
