Just installed Windows on another drive at home for the first time in many years just to play BF3 seeing as how the console's version pales in comparison.
Thirding the VirtualBox subject, even if it's ninjaing the thread. I have enjoyed VirtualBox for a couple of years as my solution for virtualizing my Windows systems. As far as I know there is no better (free) solution exists and would hate to see it go.
China's population - 1.3 Billion, 30 strong commando unit = 0.000002253% of population using real pop. #'s. In America, as a CISSP working security for govt. where there are FAR more of us than that....I must say in the numbers game...we got this one in the bag, for once...just sayin.
Tried it, and hated it...but still forced myself to stick with it for a couple of days in the hopes that I would understand why Canonical made this decision. Maybe it was just me and it really was a good UI. I am not happily back in the gnome environment and can safely say that if Unity is the only choice in 11.10, I will be switching distro's after many years of enjoying Ubuntu. Just a damn shame IMO.
Exactly right, anyone that has dealt with SMTP and looked into header information realizes the many hops involved through relays just to get a message from one place to another...however instantaneous is may seem at times. To require each relay point to agree on a shared key...or better yet have PKI involved for encrypted data transfer is just ridiculous for overhead. my $.02
And I again played Oregon Trail in...had to be '92? obviously not on a MECC. Oh how a game can span generations. Nowadays you are lucky if your original concept receives any praise beyond the sequel. Playing Dead Space 2 ATM and enjoying it as much as the first....but oh how does my 21st century attention wane as I wait for stasis to refill or necromorphs to appea...FWAR GJER Shit!!
Wi-Fi, 3G grrreat but if we're talking keeping up with the Jones' then this thing better be 4G/WiMax compatible in order to compete in a over-saturated handheld market. Just IMO from not RTFA...hope that's enough acronyms./cringe
While privatization in the past has led to corruption , site Enron . NASA has indeed peeked in its performance and space exploration should be delegated to private companies to reignite competition and improve efficiency, I hope a cold war citation is not needed.
As a side note, the HMMWV's we used in Iraq were refurbs from '85. But agreed, I wish the military had half the efficiency of NASA and received half the budget.
