I think you're overstating what the saftey glass does. I does not prevent the glass from breaking. All it does is prevent the broken glass from being scattering all over the place. So Objects, most certainly, can pass through the safety glass, it just won't cause the broken glass from falling all over you.
There is no correlation to the clamping or not of the cord. Both of my kids were born at home with a Midwife who did not clamp the cord until it stopped pulsing. Neither kid had any sign of jaundice.
Legal Lock does nothing but prevent changes to the domain name. It doesn't disable the domain in any way. In other words, you can't change the domains name servers, you can't add or remove services on the domain, can't renew the domain, the domain cannot be deleted. It's essentially static. However, it does nothing with the content of the domain.
I think you're missing the point of what this patent supposedly covers. In the patent they mention that the way it is currently being done, the "concert" is record to tape (analog) and later in the studios digitally remastered to distribute on CD. There "invention" _DIGITALLY_ records the concert and, therefore, can be distributed on CD almost immeditially following the end of the "concert". There's a big difference between the 2 styles.
The thing that most pro-lifers don't seem to understand is that being pro-choice does not necessarily mean pro-abortion. Just like, as you say, 99.9% of pro-lifers would not kill abortion doctors, most pro-choicers would not choose to have an abortion.
With all the genetic engineering going on today, have a look at A Brave new world, by Aldous Huxley. I'm not sure when it was first published, but since Huxley died in 1963, it should give you some idea.
While what you say is probably true, there's a differance between sending 1,000 individual letters vs. sending 1 letter with a 1,000 signatures. The chances of getting the 1 letter read are much greater than having the 1,000 individual letters read.

Has it striked anyone else that we build are buildings so that when something like this happens, people are unable to get of the building quickly or even be rescued? Instead, people jumped out of the windows to their death rather than be burned. The people at the top of the towers had no chance to get out of there in time. Even those that were on the floor beneath where the planes hit, barely made it out before the towers collapsed. It scares me that the Mayor and others are already saying that they will rebuild the towers.
Our building practices have to be changed so that they are safe when tragedy hits.
He Can't shut down the research. The most he can do is not allow funding for the research. But the research, can, has, and will continue, with or without federal funding. In fact, I'm not even sure how he, himself, can give funding for research. It was my understanding that that is the job of congress, and the all the president can do is sign it or veto it.
1. It doesn't matter if Gore or Bush win because they have the same agenda.
Even though they have similar agendas it matters for a rather important reason. The reason being the number of supreme justices that are retiring. I believe up to 4 supremes may retire, which the president appoints. If Bush is in office, the supremes that he appoints will be conservative and that will be a very bad thing for all of us!!
Now, I view what RAMBUS is doing as wrong. Corporation-wise, it's incredibly
intelligent and expected, because if you don't defend your patents, you can lose
them. So I expect them to do so.
I don't know why everybody gets all the IP mixed up. You can pick and choose your fights with patents. You don't have to defend against every patent violation if you don't want to. What you're thinking of are Trademarks. Big difference between the two!
By working at a fairly large communications company, I can say that when a company slams, it's not always intentional. In fact, if AT&T's system works anything like my companies, it's fairly easy to slam someone unintentionally. For example, we get a request to transfer phone number 999-555-1234 from company X to company Y, and at some point in the system numbers get transposed, believe me it does happen, then the new number gets slammed. This usually happens due to some manual intervention, why they have manual intervention still blows my mind. In any case, as much as we all want to flame AT&T it could have been unintentional. Just food for thought!
From my understanding of the situation, it's not that there is an actual shortage of US talent, it's that the US talent usually demands higher wages and businesses don't want to pay it. So they cry how there's not enough local talent and the H1B Visa program is born! So local people coming out of school with their tech degrees can't get a job, easily, in the tech field. Now they have to compete with foreign talent driving the salaries into the ground. I don't blame the foreigners, I blame the businesses that forced this situation! The foreigners are just as much a pawn in all of this as we all are!
Be wary of using places like Mailboxes etc. Yes they ship via UPS, FedEx and others, but there are some things the need to be considered. The main thing is that if you have a problem with your shipment, you cannot deal directly with the shpping company. You must deal with the store you shipped your package through to resolve your problems. i.e. Mailboxes etc. If you require a refund, the way it works is UPS will refund Mailboxes etc. and Mailboxes etc. will refund you. It's really a headache dealing with these third party "shipping" companies. I definately would NOT recommend anybody use them for shipping overseas, must less within the US.

Well that's probably true, but I've been told that if you drink rocket fuel and then fart, you can launch yourself to the moon! Of course, I've never tried this, but you're welcome to try.;-)

Funny thing is, reading through the court transcripts, the "Fair Use" argument was never mentioned. They also never mentioned that it was possible to copy DVD's without first decrypting them. Which is why the news media still things that DeCSS is the only thing that allows piracy of DVDs. It's tuff to tell which way the Judge will lean. Reading the transcripts he kept waivering between the two sides, although, towards the end of the trial, I think he was leaning more towards the defense. Who knows!!!!

Actually, If I remember correctly, The Coyote ordered these from the Acme catalogue so he can catch the Road Runner. For some reason, though, the Coyote didn't have much luck with them. Hmmm, Maybe these engineers should have reviewed the Road Runner cartoons before doing this. Oh well!

If these allegations prove true it will only verify what a lot of Europeans have belived a long time: that you can't trust Uncle Sam.
I'm pretty sure that the Europeans aren't the only ones who don't trust "Uncle Sam". There are plenty of Americans, myself included, who don't trust "Uncle Same" either.

It appears that the virus had identifying information all over it, which makes me a bit suspicious that this could be a set-up, but on the other hand, you should never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity. "
It does have identifying information:

These businesses are more interested in criteria like reliability, availability, and scalability.
How do these large businesses justify buying MS "innovations" if they are more interested in criteria like reliability, availability and scalability? I'm not trying to be a troll here, I'm just really curious about the justification here. Especially will the recent wave viruses and the known fact that Windows is neither reliable nor secure.

The simple answer lies in the idea of Supply and Demand. Even though, you are just merely looking at a picture of the child porn, it wouldn't have been supplied had there been no demand for it. That is why, IMHO, viewing child pornography is wrong!!!!

Except that not every Linux user has a persistent connection to the internet. Some of us pathetic users still have dial-up...

There was a 911 cellular call from the plane before it went down
Has anyone payed attention to what date it is...
