Description: infests X with disgusting cockroaches
Xroach displays disgusting cockroaches on your root window. These creepy
crawlies scamper around until they find a window to hide under. Whenever
you move or iconify a window, the exposed orthoptera again scamper for
    cover.

Still there in debian. We use it here in the office to find out who leaves there DISPLAY wide open. It is fun to launch xroach onto someone elses display.

I think your math there is a little off. Sense windows XP only supports 32 processors, the best you could hope for would be 1400/32 = 43.75 or 44 licenses. at $399.98 each this would be $17,599.12. Of course it wouldn't be practical to set this up with clusters of 32 proc systems and would most likly be in the 2x ($279,986) to 8x ($69996.50) so this can be pretty expensive just in the windows licenses.

Sometimes I see this as a downfall of Linux. The software for Linux seems to always try to be everything to everyone. There is no supper basic notepad for Linux, ok gedit and i am sure that kde has one too, but windows always seems to have kind of a 3 teir application base. sort of a notepad->wordpad->msword or paint->image editor->photopaint depending on how many features you may want.

Linux seems to do well on the full featured version stuff but not so well on the very basic straight forward applications. (except for the command line. There they do it right.)

Yer right, I guess it all just comes down to what you want to interpit out of something rather than what the author actually ment out of it.

Is there a word for that? When someone reads way deeper into something than the author ever thought or ment? I know the band tool does that alot. Although not a huge fan I do like them. I just know that some people think there is all these big things about there songs when the singer is really just singing about his shoes or something. I can't think of a word for it though.

Anyway the idea that every story is about someone setting out to do something or something comeing to them and being done.

Maybe a better meaning of the qote would be:

Every story is either about people setting out to do something or something coming to them.

Then come up with a way of indexing these applications and haveing an interface for updateing these packages.

of course there would have to be a detailed policy and rules on how to build these packages and how to upgrade them and such.

but think about it you could just type something like:

    get update

and it would download the latest packages available then type

    get upgrade

and you would be able to upgrade to the latest files available so far.

what to call it though. Hmmmm. Its all so simple why hasn't someone come up with this before?
