money only gains value when it is exchanged. If i take my $100 gold coin to best buy and buy a TV, bust buy takes that gold coin and pays it's workers, those workers take that gold coin and buy lunch, those restaurants take that gold coin and buy a college education for their kids, those colleges take that gold coin and buy a global warming researcher, that global warming research takes that gold coin and buys a new car... already that single $100 gold coin has bought $500 worth of goods and services. It is encouragement of exchange that creates a booming economy, not printing or withholding cash.
this should be able to be abstracted away from the OS completely, have a capacitor large enough to power the drive long enough to flush the ram on power failure shouldn't be all that much required due to speed and energy efficiency of SSDs.
Either people are paying these prices because there is a gun pointed to their head, or because they feel the phone service is worth the price, even with the additional buck or two in bogus charges. Accepting that it's not the first option as that is only being tried in a large scale with the new healthcare plan, the second option shows that both sides profit from the transaction. The customer in getting a wanted service, the provider in getting some cash.
In order to win races horses need to go faster than all the others.
Now I'm a horsist i guess, for pointing out that to attain it's goal (or at least it's rider's goal) it must do something.

I just recently put "Revenge of the Ninja" into my instant que. Maybe I'll try to get to that this weekend.

but those are the two groups of people in congress.
interchangeable depending on which 10% you are in.
Somewhere there is a government official reading this and feeling their job is working. Keep everybody scared and they'll do what ever you ask.
None.
Next question.
You can't get people back to work when they are dieing in the streets.

1960: As a long time welder, I don't see machines ever being able to weld a car frame together

THX-1138 was very close to the dystopia that this trend hints at. Everyone had to be on drugs to do their boring work.
didn't you see LotR: Two Towers? that was like 3 1/2 hours of running.

Your right to swing your fists ends at the end of your neighbors nose. So yes all those things are covered in the freedom of the press.
