I can only guess that you were talking about the eBay supply?
You shouldn't have to guess. That's what this thread is about, the going resale rate on ebay. Now that 400,000 units have sold to the public, the ebay supply is much much higher than it was when only people with confirmed pre-orders were selling on ebay. People putting their just-bought units up for auction are not going to get the same prices as those that sold before the release because they have much more competition.
It looks like the going rate is anywhere from $3000-$5000
That was the going rate before the resale market was flooded with 400,000 potential new competitors. When supply goes up without a corresponding increase in demand, prices go down.
What is the definition of "Visible From Space" anyways?
"Visible from space" is another one of those "Libraries of Congress"-type phrases the popular press likes to use. Individual people are visible from space with current spy satellite technology. The phrase originally referred to things that astronauts in orbit could see with the naked eye, but today it just kind of means "something pretty big".
I could kiss you man, or your wife anyway! I've always wondered what that lump at the back of my skull was. Nobody I've ever asked about it ever had a clue or had known of someone else with one. And I've got a supra-dupra ridge thing too! I'm a frikkin neanderthal! Wow, I knew I'd learn something if I stuck around here long enough..
The company's Chief Executive Officer and Chairman George Samenuk...
When the CEO and the Chairman of the Board are the same person, you can pretty safely assume that management is running amok. The Board of Directors exists solely to make sure management isn't putting its own interests ahead of shareholders'. When management is the BoD that setup doesn't work so well.

To each their own, but personally I enjoy playing games, not watching them. Movies are good for watching, and they don't cost $60 per disc.
A blogger uses broken english in his headline, a slashdotter copies this terrible grammer verbatim for a story submission, and Slashdot's editors (ahem) post it unedited.
Our esteemed president addressed the poor language skills of the nation's youth, asking wisely, "Is our children learning?"
Piiiiinnngs iiiiiin Spaaaaaaace!
They aren't talking about you. They're talking about people who make their living selling things on ebay.
While in the rest of the country, nobody cares about jobs?
In the rest of the country, we *have* jobs.

If that were true, wouldn't they make it available for some of the other flavors of Windows besides XP?

That's because nobody wants to live in Ohio.
Not sure, but I can tell you the color for colon cancer...
That sounds like money better spent than the $19 billion in farm subsidies the government pisses away each year.
So I can justify having my office buy me one?
You had to go and ruin a perfectly good toaster with bloatware didn't you? Damn feature creep.
Yeah, 'cause that's what every guy wants - for people to look at his crotch and say "Wow it's so tiny!"
Ah, very nice. Thanks very much Mr. Coward.
You can't place it on the tab bar where it (imo) belongs. This is the reason I still use Moz instead of FF.
This is less than one Library of Congress per minute.
Are you living under a rock? Even 12-month CDs are over 5% these days.
Then identical twins only have half a soul each.
Evidently Slashdot editors and professional editors are also not the same thing. :)
OK, you got me. Typos and poor grammar are not the same thing though.

Got a Pentium 4, do ya?
