    Well, your one user example flies against fact with general computer usage, sales, and trends. It also flies in the face of nearly every end user experience I've seen. And since you heard it second had, I highly doubt its true.

    ummm, no. People don't like lots of different interfaces. People proved that by voting with thier wallets. The CLI predates the GUI by several decades. People reject CLI. This fight has already been fought. Sorry, move along. Everything you throw up in defense of CLI will only cement your cluelessness with the end user experience. Not the computer enthusist experience, the end user experience. You know, those people the Linux community won't listen to when it comes to the issue of Linux on the desktop.

    Bwhahahaha! I don't think the US is sweating at all over the NK military. Their only concern with NK is it's willingness to lob nukes at Seol and Tokyo. The Chinese on the other hand, concerns us greatly. They do have a history of interviening when US troops are in NK.

    Wow, recycled FUD from 1984. We've already had this battle. GUIs won, get over it. New user like to see what they are doing. Clicking is more intuitive than typing. CLI has it's place and use, but don't try and tell me Grandma is going to feel better using CLI over GUI 2 weeks or 2 years down the road. It just ain't true.

    Have to wait to read the article at home, but any libel case is difficult because you have to prove malace. Infinium would have to prove intent. If the facts paint a bleak picture, then so be it. But do you really think HardOCP was intending to drive business away from Infinium?

    why the hell is this insiteful? Its wrong. Communism is a blend of econ/govnt. Communism is all about ownership: the state owns everything. who is the state? Why, the government of course. And name one Communist state that didnt' try and own and dictate every aspect of a person's life. Maybe you should talk to some people that actually lived under that system.

    It is precisely because those lines are well done, funny, clever, or have bravado that they were edited. Lucas seems to think that good dialogue is bad, because it distracts you from all the fancy effects.

    You really think anyone here had the backbone to challenge an employer's contract? I'm sure a few 12 year olds will pipe up, but they don't have to worry about feeding themselves. Hire a lawyer and be prepared to be disappointed.

    The problem is that Computer Engineering isn't clearly defined. One college's CE is another college's Comp Sci.

    The auto companies made this arguement against Japan in the 80s. Look where it got them. More to the point, is the market selling in China really big enough (not potentially, realy) to support his business? Or is he getting his ass kicked domestically and just wants to shift blame rather than spend money to improve just like the Big 3?

    Diakatana. hehehehehehe. My friend bought the game just to have it as a collector's piece. Morbid curiosity got the best of him and he played it. Misery loves company so he showed it to the rest of us. eeeek! What I can't believe is that soooo many fanboys defended the game despite it's slightly above Duke Nukem 3D graphics.

    Which begs the question: Should 3D Relms ever release Nukem Forever? It could never live up to the hype, anticipation, and cynisism built up around it. It would be better as a marketing tool unreleased.

    The problem is that the law doesn't allow for this. In fact, the law allows for a very cynical offer trap like the one detailed in the article. MS offers him $10, he's scoffs and names a price he would be willing to sell, then bam! The WIPO will slam him as a squater.

    Absolute horseshit. I have software vendors in house actively listening to our needs/complaints and providing answers. In short, the type of service that a linux newsgroup or slashdot can never provide.

    What you're saying here is, essentially: ethics don't matter, and shouldn't matter, as long as it maximizes profit for my business.

    You're putting words in my mouth. Have fun beating up that strawman? Software is not an ethical choice. Last I checked no software house I know of was using forced child labor to produce thier product. Last I checked software development still required specialized skills. Software is a tool, not a religon.
