The tag system is basically worthless they way it is being abused now. They should delete all tags such as "itsatrap" "yes" "no" "maybe" "fud" "notfud" since they are meaningless. Maybe we need a meta-moderation system for tagging.
I play guitar in a gigging cover band. It's the bars responsibility to pay the licensing fees for the songs we play. I believe they pay a flat annual rate or something, which allows them to have cover bands play and also play recorded music over the PA.
Its shocking how many times we would bring in a person who rated themselves a "8", "9", or "10" on a given programming language (Visual Basic at one and Python and Java in the other case) and it turned out they didn't understand a for loop or had never used ADO, et cetera.
Programming is one of those things where it's really hard to accurately rate your abilities. The more you learn, the more you realize how little you know. Anyone that rated themselves a 10 probably doesn't have the foggiest idea what they haven't learned yet.
Why can't we just vote on the Internet? It seems it would be a lot simpler and easier to manager, just have one website to handle the votes rather than hundreds of these voting machines all over the place. Plus people would be a lot more likely to vote if they could do it from home. Of course, you would still be able to vote by paper if you don't have a computer or internet. You could even have a separate website for each state to better manage the scale. They already have a database of voters, just mail each voter a secret password so they can access the SSL site. Anyway, I'm rambling, but it just seems very inefficient and error prone to roll out all these physical voting machines.
To a certain extent. Lots of people are never happy, though. They'll be bitter and disgruntled no matter how nicely they are treated and how much they are paid. Some people just think the world owes them a favor.
This is great for finding paintings, but what about songs? Can anyone tell me what song this is? It goes like Duh daa daa dum dum, dahhh dahh daaaaah. Thanks!
You should stop dating pigs, dude.
Not to mention the users, who might get more enjoyment and satisfaction out of learning to play a *real* guitar.

It sounds like this guy was also the bar owner, though. And he already had an injunction from 2001 for doing the same thing.
You need to take a break from coding, dude. Seriously.
That's nothing, I couldn't even read your whole post since it was too long.

And you just told Microsoft your address.. I hope they're not logging searches and IP addresses like AOL did.

You've obviously never filed taxes here.
That was way before the Internet. And it was ASCII, and we liked it.
On Slashdot?? *falls of chair in shock*

You must be new here.
Although, to be fair, the rest of us don't read the articles either, so it doesn't usually matter.
HP stalking? Should I be concerned about the microchip implants in my toner cartridges? :p
"Dodgeball is a sport of violence, exclusion and degradation." - Patches O'Houlihan There ain't nothin' wrong with Dodgeball!

Be careful what you say about file systems. Some of those file system developers are nasty, you might wind up "missing".
I think they're trying to say that gaming clouds reason.
Swapping to/from disk is still faster than downloading over the Internet.
Sadly, these numbers were gathered from the server logs at apple.com.
