If anything I use it less because the tethering isn't as stable and I mark this up to their 3G network, not the phone.

Hmm, using the same network connection with a different phone gets you worse performance and you deduce this is b/c of the network which hasn't changed?

Yeah the extra $20 for the data for a specific type of phone is no fun, but that is what the market will accept given the enormous popularity of the phone. As a GS owner, I hope the competition and the coming non-exclusivity of the iPhone will help push this down as well.

They are the artists and creators, that's their prerogative. You don't have to listen to them and in this case I don't mind as it's coming directly from the artists and not some big corporation 3rd party. Do you value all music the same? In a free market some songs/artists work would cost more than others b/c of it's perceived value.

You touch on a good point. The average user shouldn't have to be educated. It is not the users job to be managing a program, trying to make it work, or in the spirit of GTD, managing an email program. They want to get done what they want and the program/OS should not get in the way. Otherwise you're just busy being busy. I always set the OO.o default to save-as office documents on all my families pc's. If you are thinking of a virtual tour with guide and interactive scenery, hollodeck like (except based on reality), we are a ways away from that becoming reality in terms of portable handheld devices that would provide a unique experience. What is the jail time for something like this? I don't think the way you used "illegal" in those two scenarios are equivalent.
