That's because it's three letters and tacked on to the end of a file.
Ummm. No..NEF is what Nikon tacks on the end of their raw files. Different manufacturers use different extensions, in part so that you don't try to decode Nikon RAW files with a Canon utility and vice versa.
Could GM not just have sold that responsibilty on to a third party?
Sure, they could have. The problem is that the EV1 fleet was too small for anyone to profit from the aftermarket parts biz. If anyone did decide to make the parts they'd be priced too high (for the most part) for most of the owners and the unmaintained vehicle becomes a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Well, given he's giving a lot of his money away, it would seem money is not his motive now, although it may have been in the past.
It could still be a motivating factor - a way of keeping score. That way it doesn't really matter what you do with it once you get it, it's the getting it that's the thrill of the game.
Don't remember if it was a Rockefeller or J. P. Getty or who was asked how much money it would take to satisfy them. I do remember the answer though. "Just one more dollar."

Not so. I have the dubious distinction of being what is known as an hourly exempt employee. What that boils down to is that if I work less than 8 hours today I get paid only for the hours I worked. If I work more than 8 hours I get paid for 8.
Not that you'll ever read this since it's a late post, and not that you'll be able to understand it if you do read it, but here goes....
It was intended to be a humorous jab at an ambiguous statement. Is the gas station one he passes on the way to his dad's house (which is probably correct), or did someone get shot on the way to his dad's house (which is likely not at all what he meant but the phrasing made it sound that way)?
So the guy turns on the engine and keeps the garage door down. "Soon" he thinks. "Soon it will all be over and they'll be sorry." After some time he thinks, "Hey! I feel better..."
Our average day here in the Phoenix area is a little better than the average elsewhere. Still not enough to make this practical for now. If this is the same guy I talked to a few years ago, he's building a hydrogen "refinery" and they're looking into all kinds of ways of generating hydrogen for automotive use.
He had a hard time getting his truck to pass emissions at first since the exhaust was so much cleaner than the air around the test station. The machine just said he registered "off the scale". Finally got a waiver from the state.
if you have been following the research, you would know that some of the first results from long-term studies of extreme premies show significant chances of mental retardation and other disabilities.
Given my observation of life and the circumstances that otherwise healthy people can find themselves in I have noted a "chance" that you may one day wind up disabled in some way. Should we off you now or wait until we're sure you're one of the unlucky ones?
Tens of thousands of people die daily to starvation, accidents and so forth.
Do you cry for each one? I doubt you do - don't act like a hypocrite.
And do you crack wise at every one? That's what the poster was talking about after all. There was no false grief, just asking why some people can't have the decency to show some minimal measure of respect.
...if you're seriously deciding that people stop using Nikon en masse, you sorely misunderstand their position in the camera world.
You mean like Nikon must misunderstand Photoshop's position in the digital photography arena?
throught?
Stumbled over that more than I did the random CAPS (hey, at least they were at the beginnings of words and not in the middle!).
That's the problem with criticizing others...
You fail to quality, check, your, own, posts,,,,

Ummm. No.
I doubt she said "colour"....
As an American, she'd have said "color" instead.

Dang. I know I took that apostrophe out.....
Employers like well rounded employees.
Eat lot's of Krispy Kreme donuts then....
...but perhaps too dark to gay...
Just how dark do you have to be to be unable to gay?
Try looking for How To Make Enemies And Infuriate People instead. Much more useful.
Yes. Absolutely. I know that always makes me want to work harder for the jerk... err, manager who has just tried to make an enemy of me.

on the Yankee "Who's Line"
Who wants to be a Millionaire?
Yeah. That was cool. "No, dad. I don't need your help. I just wanted you to be the first to know I'm about to win a million dollars."
Or something like that...
Although open source programmers have done neat things, one must be careful not to throw around the word 'hero'.
Heroes are people who save lives.
Bah! Everyone knows that a hero is a mighty tasty sandwich.
Although, I suppose if you were really, really hungry your definition could apply...
By the way, what the heck does tourettes have to do with either post anyway? Is it something you were just compelled to blurt out?

...in fact I drive by one of the gas stations where someone got killed on the way to my dad's house...
Someone got killed on the way to your dad's house?

This looks like a waste of energy converting it back and forth.
It's not like we'd be depleting the solar supply. The vast majority of solar isn't being harnessed anyway.
Huh? They're using a little solar to create the hydrogen. It's not solar "powered".

Electric DOORS? How have we as a society become so hideously lazy that we have to make our CAR DOORS automatically open?!?!?!
Exactly. I hope I never get so lazy that I can't yell at the wife or one of the kids to open the door for me..... Sheesh!

I don't think you know what hypocrisy really is.
