It doesn't really matter which OS you use to do these things at this point.
Exactly! That’s why people stick with Windows. It comes with their machine and it does what they need. I doubt whether the “average” user has even heard of Linux...
Surely one of Waymo’s biggest challenges is that they are not a car manufacturer. As successful as they may be at developing the technology to drive a car by computer, its incredibly difficult and expensive to start building your own cars - just ask Elon Musk.
At best Waymo could license their technology to existing manufacturers to use in their vehicles, but I suspect that every major car manufacturer on earth is working on their own solution. And they all have working vehicle platforms to fit them to.
So it’s come down 11.5% over 10 years. That’s a great start but what about the other 88.5%? Given that the reduction is largely due to switching to gas for power and warmer winters, it might be hard to continue the reductions.
And nuking China would cause the retaliatory nuking of the US, so probably not a good idea. The subsequent nuclear winter would cool the earth, but it’s a pretty messy way to geoengineer the climate...
It’s really not possible that Apple coppied Essential. There were leaked images of the iPhone X notch well before the Essential phone was enveiled. The Essential only went on sale 1 month before the iPhone X. How long do you think it takes to develop and put a product like the iPhone X into production?
Apple tops the American Customer Satisfaction Index for Smartphones and they have topped the index for PC manufacturers for the last 13 years running. They sell more product than any other company (of any kind) in the world and they are the most valuable company on earth. I think your opinion of their pending demise might be a bit premature!
Huyandai have had some aweful names in the past, like the "Terracan" SUV which was obviously a Can of Terror, and the Trajet people mover which was just Tragic!
If you're in an isolated 3rd world location, and so dependant on your iPhone, you might consider not smashing it! Maybe a quality cover to protect your vital piece of equipment would be a wise investment?
Phillips have a very long history if making things as difficult as possible for everyone else. Going right back to their early TVs and radios.
Philips are very active patent trolls as well. They own patents (that they got by purchasing Color Kinetics some years ago) on technologies as broad as having an LED with a constant current driver (pretty much how all decent LED lighting works). They sue any successful manufacturer of LED lights and actively run a protection racket. Even buying LED modules and drivers from Philips to use in your light fittings doesn't make you imune, you also need to license their 'technologies'.
Exactly which 4 year old MacBook can't runthe latest Mac OS? It's officially supported on MacBooks back to 2007/8.
And why is it Apple's fault that an old version of Pro Tools won't run on the latest Mac OS? Your friend could have just updated Itunes on his older OS (it runs on anything after 10.6.8), and in fact you don't even need iTunes to use an iPhone...
The ACMA maintains a blacklist of about 1100 websites according to their website. These sites are not blocked to all Australians though, the list is provided to the makers of "family friendly filters". That's quite a different situation to China where much of the web is blocked.
This is just a ploy by a desperate PM way behind in the polls and facing a wipeout in the upcoming federal election. She's trying to gain some mileage by playing on the fears of Australians, who are suspicious of imported temporary workers. It doesn't matter whether there is a skill shortage or not, the public doesn't actually get the real facts...
Seems like by styling it to look like a space station, this data centre will be seen by far more people (at least virtually) than your run of the mill one.
Of course being Swedish, the whole thing will probably be assembled with an allen key...

Youâ(TM)re way off with suggesting that Australian Deserts will become greener, itâ(TM)s becoming hotter and much drier here.

Such courage!

Just enroll your face with helmet on. Of course the Stig will be able to unlock your phone, but otherwise it should solve the problem!
So the Tesla can automatically pull into a gas station when it gets low on fuel? That's impressive!

Out of the frying pan and into the fire?
The funny thing is, I hear over and over again that capitalism is supposed to give the consumer what they want because the consumer is king.
Not any more, the big corporations "fixed" that...

Seems like a good way to give the middle finger to conventional religions which is pretty much what FSM is all about!

BMW doesn't supply software to VW, the control systems (and warning) came from Bosch: http://blog.caranddriver.com/r...
Well Google is certainly well behind because they don't even produce cars at all. Carmakers on the other hand have that very well covered.

Assembling my organ is not what I usually do with it...
My arms aren't long enough for a touchscreen TV you insensitive clod!
But honestly if they made a TV with a decent remote control (maybe touchscreen?) My arms aren't long enough for a touchscreen TV!

They would say that wouldn't they.
