Because if they lowered there rates in a competitive system it would give them more customers. Same goes if they expanded their broadband and provided faster speeds.
If I had surplus cash I would invest it in something, like real estate or the stock market. So your argument is invalid.
What? Your words insult every RPG system that ever lived! We kill orcs because their evil, We kill Nazis because their evil. Now I'm gonna go Smite some Evil.
It would be interesting to see this in a strategy game like Civ 4. If you spend all your time in economics then the game will ease off the aggresive AI.
Of course just making the AI better would help a lot.
Yes Mr. Anderson we see that you were most likely to die in L4D by the Hunters. Since the AI director was feeling spiteful today you be forced to split your team up in order to complete this puzzle, oh and there will be no ammo drops, enjoy your crowbar.
Yeah I wouldn't say that the whole album is garbage per se... The problem is that typically when people go out to buy an album they do it for the song that keeps getting played on the radio. True fans of an artist may go out and buy the whole album to expierience more of their work, but the general populace would rather just have the one or two songs.
This is especially problematic because the people who were most easily influenced by the one hit wonder culture, the 10-25 (numbers from my ass) demographic, are also the ones adopting the iTunes model the quickest.
"and without it [evol] we wouldn't have: Paleontology, Micro-biology, Medicine, Genetics, among other fields."
Microbiology was brought into the world by the microscope, Medicine was being practiced for a long time before Darwin published his book, and Paleontology was the original cause for Evolutionary thought.
I agree that ID is not a science but Evolution is not the origin of all modern science. Nor is Darwin the end all prophet behind "The Origin of Species".
It's not for ease of use that they want you to take a subscription. It's so you have no rights over it. 100 gamers buy a game each month for $50. That's $5,000 for the industry. The gamers then sell these games at $20 dollars to gamestop and now there are 200 gamers playing the game at an average of $25. If instead you charge them $10 a month for as many games as you want, they are ensured that for as long as you want to game they get $2000/month. And they could just stop making games.
Actually make that quality games. If they could get this model to work game quality would sink below that of music quality from the RIAA.
I felt I had to put a AOL horror story somewhere so here goes:
My grandmother's computer had crashed. No recovery disc. Sony had discontinued the cds. So I turned to kubuntu. My grandmother only used the computer for online banking and AOL stuff. She had been using AOL for 10 years.
After informing her that AOL would no longer run on the computer she proceded to cancel her account (I never realized anyone PAID for AOL's crap). However later on she had become frustrated with Firefox and the AOL webportal that she renewed her account. She put the AOL toolbar on firefox and downloaded the latest frontend of IE 6 3 times. Turns out her frustration was from lack of flash. I installed it and facepalmed when I got home.
On topic it would be very interesting to see some proffesional internet content. The bad part of course is that no one will care as it will all be entertainment "news".
Your statement doesn't differentiate between the pools of money we're looking at. There's the re-election campaigns which are filled by corporations, and there is the federal money which is just a giant gold sink like those of an MMO.
The worst formatting problems come with pictures. Nothing is worse than trying to get Word to format a mostly text document that then becomes a half text/half pictures and then you start adding text boxes and "drawing borders" into the equation...
Really a bunch of features 95% of users won't touch and making the interface confusing for 80% of your users, is not as important as fixing these formatting problems.
Wiring Diagrams! I want to hear some Microsoft FUD! Maybe add in that Ballmer made a statement about Shmidt saying that he would, "...totally be able to outdistant Shmidt in a shot put competition".
It can if the developer agreement says they can. Say in the Win 7 EULA, they put in "Microsoft has the right to retroactively disable any software it deems malevolent to your computer or duplicating already existing Windows *tm functionality". Now THERES a test of the EULA.
Since Final Fantasy is not a continuous series "Reboot" is the wrong word. I would however like to see more movement of the series into other consoles. I really disliked Crystal Chronicles but would love to see a more Single player oriented FF for the Nintendo Console. Also more new games instead of remakes for the handhelds. I would love to see a new FF game that used the classic formula. I for one enjoy the non-turn based combat options as I'd rather choose my action without having to worry about getting hit to often. IMO it only stimulates the "Press X" mentality that ruined FF X-2.
Good point. Still without seeing any info on what the option will look like, and MSFT's typical attitude towards competition, I can not see this having any significant result on the browser market. At least IE will no longer be required. My next PC will definitely be a Win 7.

"inbred morons (aka Libertarians)"
Don't you mean Rebublicans who don't bother to even try to act conservative when their in office?

"but assuming that the original interface is not removed then"
There. That's why people hate it in Office 2007. However with OOo I see the problem being patents.
He never said they weren't advertising. You could make a case that articles about the latest linux kernel are advertising.
There next slogan: "Think Different, But Not THAT Different"

1. Create new way to communicate on the web
2. Open Source it so anyone can run it
3. ???
4. Profit!
