Maybe they should put down the phones and go outside. Yeesh, I spent my summers playing basketball with my friends. Maybe if they put down the phone and actually physically interact with people, they won't be bored. It's a huge world, more than FB, Instagram and snap. It's no different than when I was a kid and I got sick and watched TV all day.
...phone manufacturers to use up valuable screen real estate. Android makers are thinking, "Hey Apple convinced users to pay $1000 for a new phone and not get 100% of the screen (3.6%) is lost due to the notch."
As a pedestrian I can often look at the driver and determine if they have seen me. They're looking in my direction, or at me directly, or they'll wave/motion their hand for me to proceed across the street. This is very often the case when there's a crosswalk with no light/stop-sign.
How can a self driving car provide this acknowledgement? So that I know that the car sees me so I know for a fact it's safe to cross the street?
She raised $700m from investors but is only penalized $500k? I wonder what her net-worth is now? Probably still paid her self a ton during her tenure....
Google keep is available on iOS. Just download the app and away you go. I use it all the time for my grocery list. I input the list on my mac, and then access it in the store via my iPhone. I love being able to dismiss line items that I've put into my cart, so the list doesn't become a mix of checked and unchecked lines, by the end the checked items are all at the bottom.
I just wish it you could bold individual lines, so I could bold the store names. Instead I have to put ***STORE1*** before the items, then ***STORE2*** with it's items...
How much of that decrease is Netflix dropping a bunch of junk that nobody watches? Netflix tracks this, which is why a really popular movie is streamed from a local point of presence, while a title that nobody watches is streamed from some POP far away.
I've got an iPhone 6 with 16GB of storage. I was quickly out of space until I decided to put all my photos on google photo and I switched companies from an Exchange based company to a gmail based company. Now the only thing I have on the phone is the few apps and some music.
Companies take interns, and after their internship period is over, decide to hire them. Now the company isn't taking any risks with a fake junior developer, they can hire one that has proven themselves.
With the cost of home internet + all the online streaming services (youtube, hulu etc), you might as well just get cable + internet from your cable provider. They'll usually give you a discount for bundling them together and if you complain they'll lower your rates.
Atleast in the US, most drivers use both Uber and Lyft. So how will the authorities enforce a driver alternating between the two or driving one for the maximum and then switching over to the other?
Universities will not re-think allowing so many foreign students to take the seats of Americans.
Public Universities would prefer to have all foreign or out of state students. The tuition is far more expensive for an out of state student. Berkeley is probably the top public univ in the US. In-state (California resident) tuition is $14,068 while out of state tuition is $28,014. There's 30,574 undergraduate students. That's $13,946 more per student if they're out of state or $426m more income from just tuition alone income. Berkeley has expenses totaling $2.4B... so adding another $426m to the coffers is tempting...
Good selection of them. I've got an older model and it does everything fine (supports 4k, but I don't have a 4k TV). Supports all the channels you've specified plus a few others (NFL Sunday ticket etc), and it's not tied to any of the content providers.
I'm a long time Google Apps on iPhone user. Mainly because I can facetime family members with iPhones/Pads and also use Hangouts for those with Android. However, I'm forced to use Apple Maps in the car because Apple Car doesn't allow you to run Google Maps for the in-dash integration.
Argh. What a pain in the ass. Atleast in v11, Apple introduced lane specific directions, and yes Apple maps is much more improved than previous versions, but it still seems way behind Google Maps.
I'd much rather use Waze of GoogleMaps than Apple maps in my car, ugh walled garden...
Is anybody actually buying anything tangible with them? There was the guy that used two BTC a few years ago to buy a pizza (which is now probably a $20k pizza). This seems like the digital equivalent of beanie babies...
There's no Apple Stores up the 880 corridor until you get to either Oakland or drive out to Pleasanton. There's a ton along Hwy 101, which goes by all the affluent towns where there's a ton of cash.
Same thing for Tesla dealerships. If you're selling premium priced goods, you put the stores in the places where people can afford them. Not a lot of Ferrari dealerships down in Hollister.
Digiconomist's less optimistic estimate for per-transaction energy costs now sits at around 215 KWh of electricity. That's more than enough to fill two Tesla batteries, run an efficient fridge/freezer for a full year, or boil 1872 litres of water in a kettle.
Can someone express this in football fields, olympic sized swimming pools, libraries of congress or trips to the moon?
I see this all the time with high school students today. The reason they're checking their phones (instagram/FB/snap etc) is that they always want to be up to date on whatever is happening in their lives (circles of friends etc).
This and the need to always be connected to their circle of friends or influencers. Always on internet with social media is creating a generation of kids that don't know what to do when they aren't connected to them (being bored or disconnected isn't a bad thing).

The impact caused Huangâ(TM)s vehicle to catch fire, the CHP added. Moments later, an approaching Mazda and Audi hit the 2017 Tesla Model X.
What's in a Tesla that could ignite and cause a fire?
In every company there's someone that makes more than you, but works less.
Conversely, there's always someone that makes much less than you and works much harder than you.
From someone else's perspective, you are one of those two people.

I can't drop flash in Chrome until Google Hangouts doesn't require it for camera/mic access on OSX.

Just waiting for manufacturers to start selling $10 stickers, shirts, hats, backpacks, luggage tags etc.
When's the IPO?

"Number please....."
A few weeks ago someone on Reddit posted a comparison of Walmart vs. Whole Foods in the SF Bay Area.
