I wasn't making excuses for them. So why take out your TSA frustration on me?
I have traveled thru 19 countries and dealt with strict customs. China, Egypt, Israel, Japan, more. Hand checks, etc.
I too have been harassed by TSA. (I was driving. Rude comments. Everything opened and left scattered on the back seat. Laptop and car registration dumped on the floorboard. Had to find my passport. To say I was peeved is an understatement.) The airport TSA are relatively polite.
In my job, I always had too many things for carry on anyway. (Toolbox, spare parts, clothing, etc.)
Single chip solution - the microcontroller has flash built into it. The chip makers are using flash for microcontrollers because they only need to design one set of masks. FWIW, a chip rep once told me that the combination of voltage and reduced feature size means the older technologies wont work.
The payouts are considered a business loss. Money received from a lawsuit is tax free (because it is considered compensation for money already owed.)
Company A sues itself for $1 million to be paid out $50,000/year for 20 years. Each year, it deducts a $50,000 payout. Each year, it gets $50,000 tax free.
I want SW-patents to go the way of the dodo as much as the next/.'er, but the above struck me as aking to A) atoms cannot be patented, B) all machines are made of one or more atoms, ergo machines cannot be patented.
One could argue that oil paintings are a collection of pigments that filter and reflect various wavelengths of light. The art is in the selection and arrangement of the pigments. Or that music is a sequence of tones. But some sequences sound better than others.
Programming is not pure science, it is a mix of science and art, like architecture.
(I also agree that something is terribly flawed with the software patent system.)
For some reason, female mathematicians are sex machines.
They end up with a nice job in a math department somewhere (or even better, the financial sector) and BAM! you're home relaxed, playing Far Cry 2 and commenting on Slashdot, writing a novel the same way that Brian from Family Guy is "writing a novel" and in twenty minutes she comes home bringing bacon. Of course, be prepared to cook dinner occasionally and perform like a tantric guru. It can be a sweet, if tiring existence.
Now excuse me, I have something on the stove.
It's all fun and games until your math bunny starts multiplying. Then you're stuck at home with dirty diapers.;-)
I was asking an honest question. I was puzzled by the word. I have seen it several times. I did look it up in the dictionary before I asked. In asking a question, I learn more.
Now, somehow without trying, I have insulted some people. Instead of contributing usefully to the conversation, they respond with profanity and mod me down. (I wonder how these same people stand regarding censorship?)
I thought that Slashdot was news for nerds, a forum for intelligent conversation.
So that explains the March 9, 2009 incident with the USNS Impeccable -- Chinese hawkers in junks are crowding around, trying to sell the plans for Fogbank. (Plus a few pirated movies.)
This is true, a better way to measure fuel economy between petrol and diesel fuel would be some measure of kilometers per kilogram of fuel as this would more accurately measure the efficiency of the engine rather than the energy contained in the fuel.
Not always...
Hydrogen has great energy density per kg, but kinda sucks when it comes to energy per liter.
We've got trouble in River City with a capital 'T' that rhymes with 'B' and stands for 'Bittorrent!"
I want Bill Cosby's gocart sounds.
Have to wonder if schematics exist for computers nowadays...
If they do, where are they? Somewhere in Asia?
Finally, does anyone actually comprehend them? (Ever wonder why so many computers have unstable hardware?)
Sigh.

Why am I modded Flamebait?
Why is whining about the TSA informative, but unemotionally pointing out an obvious way to minimize TSA hassle considered flamebait?
P.S. I usually found the motels had shampoo, so I didn't need to carry it anyway.
Another way to enter the tones in languages like Mandarin. (Huge market there.)
In my road warrior job, I usually put my shampoo, toiletry and and tools in my checked luggage. Didn't really want to carry them anyway.

Imagine a whole raft of Contiki computers...
Not to mention the instruction manual is in Russian.
Ummm, what will the TSA say about self destructing thumbdrives?

the surrounding air acts as the cathode
Hello, Tech Support?
I'm installing this new battery...
The (-) wire is soldered to the anode.
How do you solder the (+) wire to the cathode?
First an O-ring. Next, a piece of foam. Now, a knob.
Why is it that such little things cause so much shuttle damage?
The Carterfone precedent of 1950s. ... The result spurred innovation such as the fax machine.
Scottish inventor Alexander Bain is often credited with the first fax patent in 1843.

Ben Franklin did it!
The key is to use a ... key.
Sigh... if only more politicians would go fly a kite. We could all sleep more securely and save money.
It's all fun and games until your math bunny starts multiplying. Then you're stuck at home with dirty diapers. ;-)
Or Fawn Hall's bra?
"After all, the idea for the mobile phone came from Star Trek..."
I think not. Mobile phones existed long before Star Trek.
Thank you.

What does "prolly" mean? I checked dictionary.com, it doesn't seem to know:
From: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/prolly
No results found for prolly: Did you mean Proll (in dictionary) or Prilly (in reference)?
Schoolhouse Rocks!
