A new and improved Al Gore rhythm would dramatically boost network efficiency. Since he invented the internets, and actually routes every single packet on the internets by hand, if he learned how to work in a syncopated rhythm the efficiency of the network would nearly double.
Home Depot has extra large superconducting electromagnets, right?
No, they dont. Wal-Mart has Yttrium, Barium, and Copper Oxides on sale right now though. Pick up a tube furnace and a compressed oxygen cylinder and you can make your own
No, the parent should be moderated as incorrect. Jerry Seinfeld was offered $5 million per episode to do another season of Seinfeld and turned it down. So no, he won't just go wherever the money is.
So, this could either be a great move on MS's part or an illustration of how woefully out of touch with popular culture they are. Seinfeld hasn't been on the air in over 10 years at this point (new episodes at least).
That's the overall efficiency of photosynthesis. You can cut out a lot of steps and inefficiencies if you're trying to do electrolysis since the part of photosynthesis where water is split into O2 and protons is pretty much right at the beginning.
Because normal electrolysis of water isn't very efficient at producing hydrogen.
This is a system for generating Hydrogen which can then be stored and used as a fuel either in an internal combustion way or with a fuel cell.
Solar panels are a way to generate electricity which then must be stored and used. Storage of electricity is generally a pretty big inefficiency, and solar panels only really work when the sun is out, so they necessitate storage or supplemental energy generation systems.
We'll see. I'm guessing Google probably won't totally drop the ball on the software, but the hardware and integration between hardware and software will be interesting to see in the real world. Lots of companies make good hardware, and lots make good software, but Apple is usually better than most at integrating the two, which in a device like the iPhone or HTC "Dream" is pretty key.
It's Vista based, so if you're fiddling with your new car PC while driving, you'll more likely experience a red (wind)screen of death instead of a Blue Screen of Death.
Well we are using Platinum in extremely warm car parts as it is. So placing rare earth metals in our exhaust system isn't a far out idea in the automotive industry.;)
Right, but there is roughly 1-3 grams of catalyst in a catalytic converter in a car. The article doesn't say how much Thallium is needed in this application.
Maybe the most important point, at what cost? how rare/expensive is that new material? If is very, maybe the main use would be not for our normal lifes, but maybe for i.e. space probes.
Lead is very cheap, Tellurium is about 20 some odd dollars per pound, but Thallium is damn expensive. In the late 90's Thallium was running about $600 per pound. That said, I'm not sure how much Thallium will be needed for this application.
Wait, so up in Canada they have ISPs where you can actually get in contact with the employees instead of the automated phone system from hell?
Lucky Canadians.

informative gives karma, funny does not.
Yeah, and McCain's is summed up by "Error 404: File not found"
Microsoft's Japanese division is EXTREMElY racist.

Check and mate!

You're right, he was in a movie which cost $150 million to produce, but which grossed about $125 million.
No blocks were ever at risk of being busted.
Well, somehow I think that Elaine just might be able to afford it.

Back in my day we sisn't even have abacuses.
Or spellcheckers, apparently.
Well, the last time I had sex, George Bush was in office and we were engaged in a war with Iraq.
It's Vista based, so if you're fiddling with your new car PC while driving, you'll more likely experience a red (wind)screen of death instead of a Blue Screen of Death.
I think we should preserve that disconnect.
Yeah, the last thing I want to experience in my car is a red screen of death.

I'm picking up some good vibes from that planet.

FTFA : "These things [quantum computers] can be very small and very cold, and they can be built out of exotic materials" - emphasis mine.
He makes this sound as a good thing.
Oh, it is a great thing for the marketing folks.
I think you overestimate Vista market penetration,
No, as with most Microsoft products, Vista penetrates the market quite thoroughly, violently, and in every possible orifice.
And maybe you can get the Flaming Lips to play a concert in there:
