It's sad that we live in a world today where people with more money seem to be more right about something because they can afford it, at least that's how some people think the system works. Really sad.
Yep but the problem lies exactly with these people who keep buying the games with this kind of DRM protection. If people stop buying they're practically forced to stop using this kind of protection. But we all know this is never going to happen and people will keep buying their products.
I've seen true 3D effects in theaters in theme parks like Warner Brothers movie world and Euro Disney and these contained real 3d scenes with figures appearing right infront of you with the feeling you could touch it (people were grabbing into the air etc) but these theatre 3D effects are nothing compared to that, it's a different technology and a lot of the movies are post processed to give the impression that it's 3D footage. I for one will not go out of my way to see a movie just because it's in "3D".
Why limit yourself like that while you can do virtually anything without any restrictions on a normal PC. This is no toy for old people who can't use a computer, this is a wannahave for whoever doesn't care about spending money on Apple products without comparing it to available solutions on the market that might offer the same or more. This whole discussion is torn out of context entirely.
Looks like you've gone blind watching Apple commercials. Since he can use windows he can easily use any other version of windows on a new 500 dollar pc. Since you pay for the 3G package I could argue that he, for that money, can instead also get some decent internet for his pc. Also, comparing a PC with the iPad is hilarious to say the least and there are tons of tablet pc alternatives that provide more than the iPad does for the same money. And yeah, these are intuitive and easy too.
Considering many iPad pre-orders have tracking #s already.. many iPad pre-orders.. who in their right mind would order, let alone pre-order a- hm nevermind.
Government related sites are hacked continously, it's just that only few stories actually arrive in "mainstream" media about it. Have a look at the zone-h archive of defacements and note the number of.gov.X sites in the list: http://zone-h.org/archive/special=1
Ads are fine with me as long as they aren't screenfilling/blocking content (like some flash ads that fill your entire screen with some shitty animation). I have adblock enabled by default but add sites I visit regularly (like this one) in the allowed list so they can display ads.
Your comparison is laughworthy. Think of an athlete using an "aimbot" at speerthrowing for example, we would then imagine a machine standing at the point where the athlete would stand with the athlete behind it pushing one button and the machine calculating the exact shot and shooting automaticly.
>If these games are so unplayable with cheating enabled, perhaps the designers shouldn't have put those features in. You're trolling right? If you really think it works like this you should try re-educating yourself when it comes to modern day cheats, we're not talking about iddqd game recognized cheats here..
A Modern Warfare 2 clan? Clans and matchmaking? So what do you have to do to actually have a war? Add every member of the opposing clan to your friends list and play? Worthless game when it comes to having a competitive community. insert(no_dedicated_servers_whine); On Topic: The fact that valve thinks anti-cheat is more important than anti-piracy means a lot to me. Compared to the absurd DRM protection Assasins Creed 2 (and other future titles from Ubisoft) has for example which requires you to have an active internet connection to play a single player game valve is a company that actually gets it. I must admit though that PunkBuster has a lot more tools available for the admins AND the server users (like pb_power and pb_kick by users) and the ability for plugins to be added for streaming bans globally and implementing your own anti-cheat variables (CVAR checks). There is little to no information available on how Valve's anti-cheat operates and I for one have no idea if it actually GETS cheaters for I never see any public messages of users being kicked (this might differ per game though).
Next time you post a video on the internet make sure you vacuum the floor. Also try relaxing before filming it so you don't sound like you've just ran marathon.
Sure man, that's why there were active threads about it on/b/ at 4chan every single day, every single hour, before the attack. Sure they were referring to IRC channels and such but that doesn't change the fact that 4chan (easily the *chan with the most visitors) provided the most recruits. I for one do not condone the way they try to make a point here. And they're not hackers, not even close, just a bunch of sheeps running LOIC. And as said before, this article is useless, you could quote any random person with an opinion about this from the boards and write an article about that too..
Wait a minute, you actually think Al-Qaeda is a country? Other than that you are right that there are still plenty of countries without these agreements, hence my previous post.
Yes, AGAIN, it's not like the US always had the right to see EU banking data. Furthermore the world is a bit bigger than only the US and the EU, there'll always be opportunities. They'll still be able to see the cashflow going out of the country though, unless it's foreign money. In short: not a valid argument and props to the EU for finally deciding that they will not kiss American ass any longer.
You're right though. And to call Anonymous hackers is hilarious. We're talking about boards that had its own users infect eachother by saving pictures, renaming them to.js and executing it (something which thousands of users dit themselves expecting something else). Fox once called them "Hackers on steroids", the general public there is a total computer retard and knows how to fire up LOIC and get some sites down but that's it. It's the numbers that make Anonymous effective, not the brains. In b4 angry/b/tards
Exactly, the way they market their products make it seem like they invented the concept. Tablet PC's have been around for a very long time, hell, products from 2002 were more powerfull than the ipad with A LOT more features but the fanboys won't care, it's Apple after all.
So now you realize your argument failed you try fixing it with a different approach? Look up the list of unpatched vulnerabilities found in your own OS on securityfocus and realize how even this argument fails. You clearly don't understand the thorough testing some patches go through before they go live. Besides, severe security issues are patches outside the patchcycle on a regular base.
You seriously have no idea what you're talking about. But enjoy being ignorant and naieve about things like this, because problems alike do not exist for other OS's, only in Windows.. right?
I agree with you and I strongly disagree with you. The chance that the Chinese government had anything to do with this seems small to me and the chance of some random scriptkid with a botnet doing this is huge. People don't seem to realize how many botnets exist worldwide and how many individuals are involved in the botnet scene, there are plenty of people that could've done this just "for the lulz" to get some media attention and not out of a political motivation.
It's really hilarious that people assume the government had anything to do with this. Do you really think they would be this stupid and obvious about these things? It's just some random scriptkid with a botnet trying to get some media attention; "lol, I did that heheheh".
Whenever I tell someone I actuall do that they always start to wonder what I have to hide, they'll be uploading new pictures of last weekends night out on their community profile which isn't set to private a few hours later.. My reason for doing it is simple though, it's none of their damn business. Isn't that enough?
The EU is whining about Bling (which is a good thing for our privacy btw) but is also pressing for data retention laws in every EU country (ofcourse using "the war on terrorism" as its motto) and succeeded. The EU suggested storing the data for as long as 24 months, the Netherlands for example went for 12 months and stepped back to 6 months eventually. Belgium is probably still going for 24 months. Now I'm wondering who will hurt my privacy more, Bling, Google or the government with its archive of my travel data (new travel cards with rfid in the Netherlands), email data, phone data, medical data (EPD), fingerprint and for some DNA data and soon GPS data in a carbox to track the miles you make for miletaxes (Called Kilometerheffing in dutch).

There's still such a thing as converting media, it'll be no problem.

They've sure come a long way since the iPad sized version of the detector..
