I've long since given up on thinking of corporations as being 'US or UK' or anything else. Corporations don't have any sort of allegiances. Corporations are just corporations they want to screw everyone regardless of where they are.

Well to be honest Google employees some of the smartest and clever people in the tech field. When you employee that many intelligent people you tend to run into their odd habits, and thought processes. Employeeing that many strange ducks I imagine it was only a matter of time before one of them managed to make the company look bad, or do something stupid with their position. I really doubt there was anything sinister in it, but you can't keep someone employeed after something like this.
Maybe I missed something buy why is there an approval process for stuff you're installing on an Ipad, I thought it was just a tablet PC? From the article it seems more like a giant Iphone though, but with out the talking. Shouldn't you beable to install what ever you want on a tablet computer?

It does make a distinct sound and sounds like that in a war-zone can have a terrifying effect, psychologically on enemy troops.
