I am no doctor, I just read the article, a rare occurrence on/.:-). I had pneumonia a couple of years ago and that also showed up on X-ray. I guess this refers to some specific problems with the lungs.
a simple X-ray will show the lungs as black holes in the body, a mystery box of trouble. But if a patient takes a breath of helium-3, the resulting MRI is so bright it looks as though the patient inhaled a light bulb
Patents have a reasonable justification. However 25 years? That is utterly silly, try 5 years. Then you are forced to use your invention right now to actually make money on it. That would kill patent trolling right away
Renewable energy != perpetual energy Solar power, wind power, hydro power, burning plant matter are all viable renewable energy sources today. Incidentally all have been in use for the last... oohh 3000 years
Now my comment was that you could trim boot on a desktop.... I do not have a desktop in my car as a sound system, and I dare guess that neither do you;-)
I agree fully with you but no one can work sustained 10-15 hour days. The reasoning from that company was a little strict, but they could not afford problems in production and they saw a trend and dealt with it.
I worked for a company once that had a strict rule of 7.5 hours per day 5 days a week. If you needed to work extra to finish something you had to get clearance from the director of development. Their reasoning was that after 7.5 hours per day you introduce much more errors and that will increase testing and bug fixing time and ultimately the company product.
With that reasoning in mind..... 10-11 hour days will likely f-ck up any programs developed pretty badly:-)
The important lesson from this is that if you were to strip out all the stuff that comes in most distros to handle all kinds of hardware and such you would get a faster boot on your desktop too. Now, having said that..... How much does boot time really matters??
I was not just that they screwed up IE and Windows... The fact that it was screwed up and expensive was the real reason that ^nix and OSS caught on. Much of the free stuff was just as screwed up in the early 90-ties...
The law applies to handheld electronic devices. So unless your coffee mug is electronic or your climate control is handheld you are probably fine with coffee and a nice temp in your car
That is BS, I use almost exclusively CFL and have no problem with heat in enclosed fixtures. They just do not produce a whole lot of heat. As a matter of fact I use a 100w equivalent CFL in a fixture designed for 60W because of the much lower heat signature.
And regardless. spam and phishing as well as distribution of rogue antivirus is illegal in Sweden so it seems appropriate that the Swedish ISP cuts them off.....
The entire NHL are overweight to obese, at least according to their BMI
This does not qualify as a joke more like a pathetic feeble attempt at one
April fools day jokes are fun if they are "slightly" more subtle
A pound of bricks is heavier.... Try dropping it on your toes :-P
Nope it does not! ;-)
At least not running a fully up to date Firefox on a real OS
There aren't that many De Loreans still available

I know it sounds silly.... but RTFA

I'll bite on this troll...

I do that several times a day.... When I open the lid on the laptop it is up in 2 seconds

Well, if you're running Linux on your laptop, you can't suspend/resume... ;)
Of course you can suspend, I do that several times a day
Yeah Funny
Stockholm had this in the 50-ties

Incandescent bulbs 100W+ are illegal to sell and over the next couple of years incandescent bulbs 25W + will be fazed out too in stages.
Are we sure it is not an alien spaceship ?
They cloned it and then changed the data! /. but sometimes it is a good thing to RTFA
I know this is
Yes and often the origin of DDoS
