Sadly this is true. It also leads to complicated, diverse and well thought out theories turning into one line snappy catchphrases in order to explain to the funders that they're doing something worthwhile. Would youd read through a 200 page scientific report - filled with variables and equations, workings and models - on what your scientists have been doing for the last 4 years when you can read the title and the last paragraph and get the fuzzy jist of it?
or even better, when your funding is dropping low, tell the press and get the force of public opinion to boost your funding.
I'm not saying the report isn't true, but take all summaries with more than just a pinch of salt.
They're not stamping on civil liberties or the individuals rights, they're trying to protect us from ourselves because we're too stupid to know better!
I'm off to play counter-strike and plant a bomb in a non-descript the middle eastern town...
MAKE magazine have been doing Youtube shorts for quite a while now, which in itself is just bits of the magazine 'acted out' in fast motion, while leaving out a couple of details, like exact measurments for some things, or model numbers - refering you instead to the magazine (which you have to go buy) The fact they have a TV show means it'll probably be just an extension of this philosophy and - call me cynical - will just be another advertising platform (confirmed by the fact that being able to 'view the TV show' links at the top send you to the MAKE Youtube shorts channel)
The Copyright, Intellectual Property, and creative rights are muddy waters.
Like the relatives of Asimov who still get to say how and where his IP gets used (and frankly abused, thank you Mr Smith) in the name of cash they get off the back of it, and all reprints of his books.
Even the burning at the stake is exaggerated. Burning in the UK was a common method of executing criminals in the UK, regardless of whether the crime was religious in nature or not
Until 1790, every woman convicted of counterfeiting gold or silver coin of the realm, was sentenced to be drawn on a hurdle to the place of execution and there " to be burned with fire till she was dead."
We've just had a similar problem arise today. We tested a site on IE 7, working fine, Firefox, working fine. IE 6, the logo is hidden off the top of the screen.
IE 5.5, works fine (even the scripting shockingly). IE 6 was the browser that made me turn to Firefox and i've never looked back.
Needs a car analogy or they won't get it.

Just don't let any Journalists near it. The amount of dense matter in their head getting anywhere near a black hole could be disasterous
"World of Neitzschecraft" There's no magic, no Gods, just warriors, rangers and lots of rats to beat up.
Also, quite a few of the Intel ones are in Asia

Link to "Someday" by Issac Asimov - not a happy ending
That was Asimov's "Someday" i believe
Ofcourse not, he's a super mutant, his fingers would just mash the keyboard and there's no time to send away for a dialing wand...
