Hey guys Linux is secure right? Can we please stop pretending open source means secure? Closed source doesn't mean secure either but the argument you often hear is "X is open source" "Open source things are secure" "Therefore X is secure".
It never combusted. The permafrost melted and it all just went in the atmosphere and the loss of mass caused a sinkhole. The summary is bad. There was never a explosion besides the dust settling. Think ice sheet breaking. Once it pasts melting point, it accelerates fast enough to watch it with your eyes. If this keep happening most of the timescale modals of global warming are off and we will have reached a weird point-of-no-return due to the major mass of methane added to the atmosphere all at once.
It's people like you that cause global warming and will make all the northern forests to die off. People have such a warped sense of entitlement. Just because you can hire someone in another country doesn't mean you should. Just because you can easily drive from downtown to your house in the suburbs doesn't mean you should. There is absolutely no reason you can't get good people that live near you. You have no sense of community or socialization. If something is too far to bike to, something in your society is off. This doesn't just apply to work. When family moves away it breaks all the ties that matter. "But it's only a 3 hour plane flight" is silly. I know this is kind of radical, but unpack it for a moment. All those nutty holiday flights. No sense of shared responsibility because most of the people you know will get a new job and move in 5 years. The other half live 30 minutes away by car and you see them once a week. You don't have a community, you have buddies. No phone calls and skype don't count. That only makes you care about the person, not the city taxes they are under, or who they should vote for, or their schools. It just makes you narrow and selfish. Phone cares to people far away also just take away from people you could be with near you, or the chance to meet people near you.
Google is just another one of those large corporations that are run by middle managers: and C level head nodding exes. The way decisions flow up stream is dysfunctional, which is why they are often reversed seemingly pscyofranicly if they get play in the media.
Dare I hope this will come true? I remember Sony laptops used to offer a "wiped" install on some laptops, with a clean win7 install, no Sony or bloatware software (cue windows is bloatware jokes... you're not funny). I was going to get a Sony, mostly for that reason (they were comparable to other laptops in every other respect).
Long term pot use is disastrous for your ability to function emotionally, but hey at least your liver will still be working. So go ahead and smoke up. I will be LOLing when nobody worthwhile wants to deal with your addled mentality at 40 years old while my Alcohol greased social life will be fully functional. Protip:it's the addiction that is bad with any drug.
Protip: get your kids to socialize away from the internet.
That will boost their lifetime achievement in jobs, school, everything much more then reading Wikipedia or watching documentaries. It's all about social skills.
Kids should be writing and doing math more anyways. by hand. over and over again.
If your kids are spending any extra time on the internet, it's a waste. The best thing is just logs that show how much time they wasted and discuss it with them, but remember they will just hate you for monitoring them
undermined the confidence many had in high quality of open source
protip: only naive college-level awareness fanboys thought that.
Everyone else was aware of the illusion of security in Linux and knew it was mostly through obscurity that it was not the victim of attacks. It's not just a lot of eyeballs btw, but the right eyeballs. And reviewing shipped code for security is usually the last thing foss people spend their time on.
In the PR and even in the reviews it was claimed there were long drawn out scenes discussing physic theories. This was nonsense. All those scenes were 5 minute sum-ups and 5 times as much time was used to talk about how the feeling of love should be used in a judgement about which planet to visit. They need to shut up already about it being a sciencey movie. It wasn't. It was a feelings movie. A bad one. The red camera of HAL9000 had more personality then any actor in this terrible terrible film. This is the first Hollywood movie I had seen in a year. I was dragged to it. It just reminded me not to waste my time.
Some countries just want to see the world burn. I have lately decided the real reason wages have been flat in the united states sense the 70s is that is when we started sending vast amounts of our wealth overseas in the form of foldable cash to buy off people. It all disappears into the black hole.
aircraft carriers are already obsolete. You just can't hide from satellites. In the first major war they are going to be the first things sunk. Their carrier group isn't going to be able to stop 2000 guided missiles shot from 1000s of miles away. And if that doesn't work, they will just shoot a nuke into the middle of the group. Or under the group.
A irrational brain puts more weight on small loss then a chance for a huge reward. It's not just lottery tickets. We make bad choices like this all the time. Playing way too safe because we can only see the certain small loss instead of the uncertain much bigger reward.
People in that generation just don't understand technology dangers. They just don't grasp the whole an email is a master key thing. They don't understand why the NSA reading emails is like having a cop read your post office mail, why your online life is your life. How it is so easy to go from email + name to having someones SSN and then address then credit in their name.
Right? No not literately. besides the bottom of the programming market is about to fall through once the rest of the worlds children catch up. It looks like they were about 10 years behind in having kids grow up with computers. Those days are long behind. I fucking hate techogly in grade school, give them paper and penicls and have them write and do math for years in-till they are masters at it. That is all. Does anyone realize there are about a million other jobs besides programming? Does anyone realize 99% of companies use the same software?
This is bad data in so many ways. The first one is in the summary. You never ever compare wages or companies across industries and expect anything but nonsense numbers. I want to know if female CEOs in home health care make more than male CEO companies in home health care for example. There are other problems here, like using 'revenue per employee' as a useful number. This is beyond ridiculous. Male hating feminists used these techniques to distort and widen the media reported wage gap for years.
You might have also heard this: "25% of women in college will be raped. " Another completely false bad data point. Using bad reporting and a bad definition of rape. I grew up around this male hating culture that told me I and every male was a rapist and other male hate attacks, I heard this starting in the 90s. Fuck you FUD spreading. Here is a fun fact; most feminist organizations are staffed with lesbians. I've looked into this, true story. One day the vast majority of women are going to regret selling themselves out to a minority hate group.
There is just not lots of good work around anymore. Even fed ex drivers are independent contractors that don't get any benefits or company paid unemployment services. So everyone in those jobs are fighting to get the few better jobs, driving everything down. There is good work around, but it's so limited, even middle class work is becoming a elitist circle. Those inside the circle just don't get how many more people are outside it now. "I'm making 80k out of college, you can too" is just not true for the vast majority of people.
You have been lied to your whole lives. People still try to tell me dietary fat becomes body fat in big amounts. People still try to tell me certain fats are bad for you, such as saturated fat when the only bad fat is transfat which you rarely find in nature. protip: There is no such thing as an essential fructose.
It's really a failure of politics too thou. Back in the 60s a major 8 country study was done that showed fatter diets caused heart problems, except later we found out he had data from 20 countries but only used the data that fit his model. Heart problems it seemed were actually caused by consistent inflammation which was more a sign of lack of exercise. protip: margarine is much worse for you then real butter, in several ways
So the government tried to get fat out of foods, which they thought would mean people would eat more veggies, but snacks just changed from high fat to high sugar "hey look! this food is low fat" except the sugar spikes your insulin, causing most of the calories to be stored as fat. I still hear myths like a a calorie is just a calorie, or low calorie diets are good for you. protip:exercise requires calories. I mean just look at all the people buying lowfat milk, which is mostly milk suger with all the healthy fat taken out.
another example is the whole wheat sensitivity wave, when really it is mostly the additives that make the bread shelve stable for 2 weeks that are bad for you.

Are you really trying to suggest he wasn't corrupted by the money? Even if he didn't 'take it home', he was still gaining status from it in soft ways.

but thats wrong. go google news and set the limit to the last 10 days.

They will just delay for 5 years then wait for everyone to forget about them. if someone sues in 6-7 years it will just be a minor settlement.
It does increase odds a lot but the way they lie about it makes it sound like most people who smoke will die from it, which is a flat lie.

Am I missing something? isn't all code 99% fluff before compiling?
