In 1944, Lt. Hiroo Onoda was sent by the Japanese army to the remote Philippine island of Lubang. His mission was to conduct guerrilla warfare during World War II. Unfortunately, he was never officially told the war had ended; so for 29 years, Onoda continued to live in the jungle, ready for when his country would again need his services and information. Eating coconuts and bananas and deftly evading searching parties he believed were enemy scouts, Onoda hid in the jungle until he finally emerged from the dark recesses of the island on March 19, 1972.
It is just a prototype for internal development. It isn't meant to be competition with the Rift. It is what they imagine the Rift and other VR headsets becoming.

There are some good info graphics on actual data here. PC has 51% of the playtime marketshare and consoles only have 30%.

Free to play games are where the big money is now. League of Legends made $624 million in revenue in 2013. They even gave out $14.3 Million in tournament prize money.
Crossfire (a counter-strike clone popular outside the USA) had the most revenue and made almost a billion dollars in revenue last year.
Yes, Oculus isn't stopping at 1080p, they said they need at least 1440p, but might go higher, and might possibly have multiple versions that are more expensive but have higher resolution.
I agree the shutdown should be easier, but it isn't as hard as you make it out to be.
1. Move mouse to bottom right corner and the menu appears
2. Click Settings
3. Click Power
4. Click Shut Down
There is a way to make a shut down shortcut on your start screen but it is complicated. You should just be able to right click the power button and add it.. really it should be there by default.
Why are people using metro touch apps on desktops and bitching they don't work well with mice?
If you want to use it like a desktop use the same desktop applications that have always been available the exact same way as you would on Windows 7 and you get the exact same interface as on Windows 7.
If you do this Windows 8 functions exactly the same as Windows 7 but with a different start menu. It isn't hard people.
Performance is still worse because it takes time for it to figure it out. Also certain tasks you don't need the performance for will take it away from what you do. If you just keep them separate performance is always maximized.
Totally agree with this. Put the stuff that benefits from the performance on the SSD, OS, web browser, etc. Put the other stuff on an HDD.
If you're using the caching method you won't always be getting SSD performance on things that actually matter, but if you use them separately you always get maximum performance.
A manned pilot will pass out if he pulls too many Gs. This isn't an issue with an unmanned fighter. You're also assuming the unmanned are relying on outside signals, but they could be programmed to operate on their own.
I would give the unmanned fighter the advantage over a human pilot that can't accelerate as fast, turn as fast, has slower reflexes, not as precise aim, etc.
So random people weren't very good at it, but what about experts in this sort of thing, like a Sherlock Holmes? How would they compare to the computer?
Actually most of the games for PS4 are too. For example Killzone uses interlacing and is only 960x1080 for each frame. Only half the resolution of real 1080p.
Most PS4 games are rendered in sub 1080p resolution and scaled, some games run at 60 fps but often they run at 30 fps, and the fov in most games is 70 degrees or even less.
The Oculus Rift guys are pushing for 120+ fps, 1080p+ resolution, and 105 degree fov.
The Oculus guys did their research and found that all of this is required for a good experience. The PS4 hardware can't come close to meeting any of those requirements and their headset is going to be a terrible experience and just make people think all VR headsets are terrible.
Some big management guys at Sony are pushing for a VR Headset because it is going to be the next big thing, but they don't understand any of the technical details and it is just going to fail.
How about fuck you and your stupid rules and regulations that do nothing to protect anybody and only inconvenience the innocent?

Well you have to look at what the goal of having someone in prison is. Is it just to punish them, or is it to fix them?
Only higher end video cards and monitors have DisplayPort.
When you're using Angular, Backbone, or other MVC type frameworks it can be pretty legit programming.

Out of the 30 or so I know only one smokes and none take weeks off to go to gaming/comic conventions.
These infographics are geared towards sales and that isn't really a significant factor for sales.

Nope, in-app purchases are also subjected to the 5%.
They did already, it was posted here a week ago. https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/...
