Same here, most of the people I know also make really poor financial decisions. I think it the 'American way' of consumption.
Likewise, as far as a safety net, I know lots of examples of people scamming the government welfare system. There are probably facebook groups on how to do it. Couples not getting married with multiple kids purely for welfare, claiming food stamps/tax refunds for non-existent children... the list goes on and on.
They will need to rely more and more on original content as traditional providers stop renewing their licensing agreements, a.k.a. Disney.
Interesting that much of the original content on Netflix only has 1 or 2 seasons and they move on. I wonder if it's to keep any one set of actors being able to negotiate higher salaries as the become more and more popular.
I also buy a ton of stuff from Amazon. I'm afraid to tally the order history!
Even with prime, I often let a few things build up in the cart for a single order, but they frequently still end up shipping multiple deliveries.
However, that approach works well for non-prime members, since $35+ orders are free anyway. Sure, they'll sit on the order for 3-4 days before actually initiating the delivery, but if I'm not in a hurry, who cares. Every now and then, paying for 2 day delivery or running to a store is still a good option saving money overall.
We'll probably drop prime now. Amazon just shattered profit estimates, so they aren't hurting for money. It's be interesting to see if they lose more than 20% of their prime members.
Used to happen by manually setting scan syncs and properties for X display driver settings back in the day. There were warnings about being careful when setting the HorizSync and VertRefresh values.
The only problem with Newegg is their return process. I bought an SSD from them (seller) that ended up being OEM drive without warranty. I didn't even open the box and sent it straight back and it still took 3 weeks to get my actual refund. I don't have a lot of returns, but Amazon makes it SOOOO easy with immediate refunds.
So, it uses AI to predictive suggest as you type. Seems like that would require network access. Not that I would install it. I turn off googles default predictive typing for that exact reason.
15Gb in 4 days? You shouldn't watch so much video from your home connection. Does AT&T have service there? "GoPhone customer. Starting today, AT&T GoPhone customers can get unlimited data for only $60 a month after they sign up for AutoPay" I tether off my go-phone wifi hotspot no problem. http://about.att.com/story/att...
Not to mention, I have a security system that requires a code once the door is opened. No way I'll give an alternate access code to Amazon, which could be used at any other time as well. Even if I disable that code when I get home, I'm still vulnerable for the remainder of that day.

"Gasoline price is US$5.8/US gal. right now" Maybe in California, in N. Texas, it's right around $2.80

My kingdom for a mod point!
If you have that much time.
Except Intel changes the socket format so frequently, I've almost always been forced to by a new motherboard... and new memory.
Well... about about an attack in JS to read your lastpass vault? Seems significant enough to the average user to be concerned.
I run Mint 17 on a Dell Lattitude e5450 with core i5, 16GB ram and an SSD. Runs very fast, no problems.

I'd say pretty evil shit. This is just the worst I could come up with off the top of my head in which they've admitted.

First, it says they are targeting specific customers, so less video to analyze.
Second, have you seen the latest software AI that can identify/classify video objects/contents in realtime or better? It's pretty amazing.

Overclocking/overvolting will do it. Although, they do have built-in thermal protections to help.

That's directly from the media companies.
