An issue I have with the financial analysis is that there is a 20B market for watches out there. Just a guess but probably older and more conservative people buy watches now. They aren't going to sell this to them- they have to depend on a fad to develop with teenagers/hipsters for this thing...
Not to mention how does teaching in a Indian village (I assume is poor) act as a relevant anecdote for the average US citizen. I suppose it is easy to argue that a computer is better than nothing, especially in a place that probably can't afford to buy books.
You give something to somewhat they can do what they like with it. A lot more interesting prize is loaning an award to someone for a year- like the Stanley Cup.
The idea is pretty dumb. The only way I can see this being useful was if the watch acted like a second screen to you ipad or iphone. I really don't see the value in a standalone device.
A more interesting article would include calculations that would outline the costs of reducing the momentum of the object so it would stay in earth orbit and use something like the cost of kilowatt hours in the equation. I am too lazy to do it but I am sure there is a/.er that will rise to the challenge.
Not to mention that there will be a host of people you will need to configure, install packages admin permissions, develop apps. etc. Maybe you won't be plugging things in or managing virtual machines but there is plenty that will still need to be done.

The vendor lock-in with ITunes is what was new....
We have a 27" tube TV. I want to get a new one, but I am too cheap to do it while I have one that works. Kind of wish it would get stolen....
I like rib eye and lobster, but I only get them when they are on sale. So you can include me in that group!

Does Red Hat or Apple support a 10 year old OS? Do any open distros do this?
They are ending support for XP in one year. Does it make sense to port software to XP?
Why even sell a console as a loss leader? Port them to xbox and ps4 and market specialty controllers.
Nobody buys Nintendo for the hardware- why don't they give up on the console and sell ports of their games to xbox and ps4?
Nothing has been said about the radionuclides and mercury that won't be released by this process.
A car with highly modified controls like this should have a kill switch too. They're common on boats, atvs and jet skis.
Really? Isn't there about 30 people in Iceland?
Repair ability is proportional to form factor for just about any device. I don't understand what is so mysterious about this.

I wouldn't want to dilute the pot of coffee I down before leaving the house.

You have to remember too that Amazon is probably more concerned by getting hit by a patent troll than they are on cornering the market.
So the acceleration isn't constant, it is shut off after a year.
You have some of your lunch in your beard.
Interesting blog post on the difference between QNX and the other OS offerings.... http://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=217190
Double that if you don't want to blitz past the planet at close to C....
Pretty sad that we have gone from RTFA! to RTFS!
