I work in a communications squadron, and I know at least 15 people with iPhones ---- I only know of one of them that has jailbroken his phone, and that was specifically for the purpose of switching carriers. So.... is my sample unusual because of a higher-than-normal standard of integrity (military personnel)? I mean... these are comm geeks; jailbreaking a phone would be trivial.
If you get modded down, it has nothing to do with fanbois: It has to do with your attitude and total lack of information in your post. You've said practically nothing of value to the average Slashdot reader, so why expect positive feedback?
If you don't like Apple, their products, or anything associated with them... fine. But if you're getting consistently modded down, it's probably your approach that's the issue. If you'll put forth why, what, and how Apple is good/evil, you might even find a few comrades/enemies ready to welcome/argue your (un)justified criticism.
Why does it matter if someone else gets an epic-quality item? Does it somehow strip you of your earned rewards? And why is it so wrong if a 12 year old kid wants to do *exactly that* and take his Sword of OMG to the forest and kill boars? If he's enjoying it, why do you care? How does it affect *you*?
You complain that it no longer takes weeks of running an instance to clear it. So I'm guessing that (prior to you quitting) you've cleared all the hard modes available to you in the first week?.... yup, I didn't think you did. There's no lack of challenge in the game if you want it. Many of the instances are tuned for casual play, so that nearly anyone who's interested can make reasonable progress, even if they don't fully understand the calculus involved in tank itemization (for example). On the other hand, hard modes and the new Heroic 10/25 versions of Coliseum allow those seeking extreme difficulty can have it --- and are rewarded for their efforts. As a matter of fact, at the time of this posting, there is exactly one (1) guild who has completed the "Earth, Wind, and Fire" achievement. It's *tough*, and ready for anyone who wants to meet the challenge.
Don't think I'm attacking you directly --- I'm not. I'm just tired of seeing this exact same argument passed around by forum trolls, who conveniently can't back it up with an Armory link.
Where in Europe are you? I'm currently stationed in England, and your "reversed" example is exactly something I saw one night on Sky TV around 10pm. It was a documentary about sex, including a scene where a couple are using multiple cameras... including one showing him pulsating inside her during orgasm.
To top it off, there's a few movies I've seen on Sky One or Bravo that have the violent scenes removed from a movie --- even if it's integral to the plot.
I want you, and those who modded you +5 Insightful, to give this a little more critical thinking:
"It is 100% Apple's fault for putting AT&T in a position where they don't have to compete with other carriers for iPhone business". Apple doesn't care who uses the phone, or on what network. Their business is not to sell bandwidth -- it's to sell phones (among other things). AT&T is the half of this venture who insisted on lock-in. Why would Apple segment their potential customer base by using only one carrier, unless they believed it to be of higher profit value to do otherwise?
The rest of your argument is mostly correct. AT&T won't upgrade unless they feel a need to. Just like every other business.
... I'm all depressed and thought I would come to Slashdot and read some funny comments. That'll cheer me up, right? No one RTFA? Snarky posts for +5 Funny?
All I found was an article reminding me how god damned depressed I am.
I'm a really big Apple fan, but I find it quite sad you felt it necessary to post as AC because you said something *good* about Microsoft. I wish we could all just have an adult conversation about any/all OSs here at Slashdot.
You're putting this into your little world without considering what it means for others. How about this for an example: I'm in the military, and when I deploy I ----cannot connect to Battle.net ---. It's simply not possible for me to do without running running into legal or security issues out in the field. Instead of playing a 4/6/8 player LAN game when winding down for the night, I can't bring this game with me.
So freaking out about no LAN play is a perfectly valid thing for me to do. SC1 and D2 are still hugely popular for downrange geeks.
Mod parent astronomical. This is the most sought after feature for Starcraft (and for it's soon to be successor). LAN play *is* coming to SC2, whether Blizzard implements it or not.
I think you're already a leg-up on many other marriages. Obviously, you've talked about your union in detail. That's it -- communication. Just like kids, there are no guides or books to follow.
That said, my only piece of advice to you (which I would give to any married couple) is to make sure you have some "me" time. You can't possible enjoy everything together, all the time, 24/7. If your wife likes absolutely everything you do/eat/say, you didn't marry a woman --- you married a fembot. Take some time to explore an interest on your own, and encourage her to do the same.
I've been reading 4chan too much lately, apparently. I almost accidentally my whole Coke when I read the tags for this. CP != Community Promise on most boards...
I give it......Thursday (tops) before someone is memorialized as a prank.

I suppose publishing the tech for Grand Central doesn't count?
If you're going to bash, at least be correct.
Happy Slapsgiving? :)
You know why they don't/can't rate online experiences? Here's an example of World of Warcraft Trade chat when in a city:
[2. Trade] Deringer: ANAL [Attack]
[2. Trade] Arrtthhaass: ANAL [Corpse Explosion]
[2. Trade] Treqir: ANAL [Injection]
[2. Trade] Arrtthhaass: lol
[2. Trade] Yosim: STFU an stay out of trade
[2. Trade] Deringer: lol u have downs

.........fiber? :)
Your analogy made me lol IRL.
Yo dawg I heard you like oil so we took oil from your plastic while you're making plastic from your oil.

Are you trying to crash your server again out of spite or something? :)

I re-read my post, and while I was aiming for Funny, it didn't quite come out that way. Thanks for the thought, though :)

You're that guy that buys Monster cables because they give your music a "warm" sound, right? :)
I really dug the music. Any ideas who it is? Or is it indie/related to the webpage designer?

Mod parent Funny. It's a reference from Idiocracy.
It's that thing that killed Tasha Yar!
