This ^. Most of the time I listen to TV it is background noise while I work on a project. I don't want to have to concentrate full time on the TV. When I'm not working on a project, I usually just want to relax and not think that hard.
This is also why I sometimes slow down through blind intersections (nearly got caught out when the semi beside me suddenly stopped and all I saw was the fire truck he was blocking from view and hearing) and try not to pass another car at a speed I can't slow down at if they move over suddenly. Doesn't handle every scenario you described but helps.
In northern states it often seems to be the case that most of the road is perfectly fine but intersections are glaze ice due to people stopping for the lights. When driving 10-20 MPH under the speed limit, if someone slides through the intersection in front of you, you wont be able to stop but you can dodge a car in these conditions. However if you keep proper distances from people driving normally, stopping is no problem.
Also depends on the traction of the road. I was driving 35 MPH in very snowy weather (10 under the speed limit, apparently still not slow enough) and a car slid through the intersection in front of me. I slammed on the breaks and let the anti-locks kick in, the car was not stopping fast enough (something like 35 down to 30 in half the distance to the other car). I was able to fishtail my car into the other lane and back in time to dodge around the other car. Not saying this is ideal in all situations but stopping was not an option on this one.
Yeah but maintenance is something common across all power plant types. I'm not sure how much more or less coal has vs wind or solar but it is somewhat balanced on either side of the equation.
I believe tidal power has lulls at the top and bottom of the tide, though someone more knowledgeable can contradict me. Power storage can be applied to any generation methods (with coal it can be used to lessen the need of more power at peak use), so that doesn't really help separate renewable from coal or oil.
I'm not against renewable approaches, they are the future of power, possibly along side of fusion if we can make that work. I just think it is important to understand all of the benefits/drawbacks for proper application.
This isn't exactly a new thing though. My city thought boulevarding streets was a grand idea. The result was the one or two residential streets you can use to get into the area have nearly everyone driving 35+ and often people driving over 50 on a cramped street with cars parked on either side.
My password cheat sheet is the word used for the core of the password. Then I interweave a numerical pattern I've used for so many years I'm unlikely to forget it. Now if I ever have to change that number pattern, I'm kind of screwed.
And your point? The CEO profited from this while it was happening, and then he gets to walk away with no penalties.
And all of those shareholders that profited from this and get to walk away with no penalties. Arrest them all!
Yeah, they are on my radar if my phone breaks. Since Verizon stopped subsidizing phones, I don't feel like blowing $20 a month until I have to.
My old smartphone with removable battery and SD card is working just fine still. Going to see how many more years this continues for.

I did enjoy the Dos Equis commercials. I'm hoping they will still be good with the new actor.
I prefer my TiVo, though it was like pulling teeth to get Charter to give me a cable card that mostly works.

Not sure how to get consistent spacing or I'd post some here.
And I've been heard that assassins love the .22LR pistols. Though I'm just repeating what someone told me.

I swear the stack of printouts on my desk are laughing.
You're lucky. The stacks of printouts on my desks are conspiring to kill me. They're going to make it look like an "accident".
Death by paper cuts.
Oh it is simple to filter out the adds. I just rarely watch any online videos.
"Print is dead."
RIP Egon

More with my ability to quickly post without inappropriately categorizing. Though hydro can also have issues during long periods of drought or floods.
If you don't deal with maintenance they are pretty much capable of 365. Renewables don't have this capability, even in ideal conditions.
Pausing video is also a royal pain, pausing text works nice as I can scan back a couple words to get proper context where needed.
I willingly posted it and I willingly delete it as well. Why I put it up and take it down? Because it is my data and I do with it as I please.
Why I put it there in the first place? Because I wanted it to be visible at that moment. Now I do not want to have it visible anymore.
What happens on the internet...
I got the same but for 5 white women the fourth picture was a pregnant black woman with a white guy. Weird.
My engineering class started with 300 students and I graduated with 30. Only about half finished the degree in 4 years. This is a US university.
Pay per view would disagree.
