I have been using comcast for about 3 years and if this restriction is put into place, I'll leave immediately. I have 3 DSL providers in my area that would love to have my business.
Here in Indianapolis 64k ISDN is MUCH more expensive than DSL or cable. ISDN may be good enough for some but if you have access to DSL or cable then why would you want ISDN?
I work for a very large medical diagnostics company and we are in the process of removing some Windows 2000 servers and replacing them with Linux servers. It's going to save the company that I work for millions of dollars.
Actually, 2.0 came with the older KDE and Gnome (they were current at the time 2.0 was released). 2.7 included the new KDE and Gnome and a lot of other great window managers (fluxbox, XFce, Icewm, blackbox, Window Maker, etc.). And no, they didn't skip a couple of mumbers. Libranet has been around 2 or 3 years (maybe longer).
It's too bad, really. I remember running TurboLinux 6.0 and loving it. I gave up on them because a year went by and there wasn't anything new. Actually, that version of TruboLinux ran better for me than any other distro that I had tried at the time.
What do you mean nobody's running Potato at home? I don't remember ever seeing you in my home to check. I'm running it on 2 machines. And it hasn't gone cold. They just released 2.2r6 the other day.
I don't think the money that we spent on the club membership is going to Sun. Do you realize what it costs to run a club like this? Oh, I forgot, this is Linux so everything is supposed to be free. People are so cheap! I'm a standard member of the club and I think this is a great idea. I just downloaded OpenOffice and it does everything I need out of an Office package.
They said that when StarOffice was free. God, people are so damn cheap!!! How can a company give away something that is no longer free? Shut up and download OpenOffice.
I agree 100%!!!

How can you compare this with Microsoft bundling Internet Explorer with Windows?
Apple isn't breaking the law.......
AWESOME post!!! It could not have been said better...
I agree. There does seem to be more of a "community" feel with FreeBSD.
What the hell are you talking about? Please, please, please don't compare the security of Apache servers to IIS servers......
Thanks for making me laugh.
Nothing more that a toy?????

Hell of a toy, huh?
You can download it for free. Version 2.0 is available right now on their website. They will, eventually, offer 2.7, as well.

No, you're incorrect. This isn't just Debian 3.0 with an easier installer. It includes a heck of a lot of improvements over Debian 3.0.
I've been using it (Libranet) for over two years. It's VERY worth it.

You got to it before me....... :)
What's that supposed to mean??????
I agree!!!!! The series of books that you mentioned are great!
As a former DEC employee that supported VMS, it's good to see that it will still be around.
And you're right.....VMS will outlive all of us.
I agree! Why does it matter that he's an Indian American?

They didn't leave linuxconf out of 7.2. During install, you just had to choose to install it.

Didn't you read the article? The complete book will be available around June.....
I wish people would read the entire article before commenting.
Actually, Libranet has been around for a few years. They're really not that new.
Actually, over the past year, Libranet has befome extremely popular. You should checkout the Libranet-users mailing list.
Have you even tried Libranet? I've been using it for years and it's great! You might want to try something first then open your mouth!
