Kinda interesting... WW1 and poor market situations screwed *cymbal crash* the Robertson invention, but apparently its still used in Canada and some crafts in other areas.

Do you actually believe what you wrote? That's, quite simply, illogical, depressive horseshit.
Which is more likely to grow up in society's pattern of 'good': 1> Child whose father is a homicidal psycho jungle cat and whose mother is a crack whore 2> Child whose parents spend time, talk, and love
The problems are that this study implies permanent long term effects - what it really does is simply distract the mind temporarily. If you really hate the girl go ahead and blame her for some horrible occurence you've experienced, but otherwise that lousy little high school girl had no real longterm effect on your IQ. You can sleep better now.
Nope - (188m/sec)/(345m/sec), not 676km/h. I did put the speed of sound comparison in the wrong place though; should have put it underneath the original number, not the number in km/h.
Alright. Of course the trailer had the standard, expected CG. Of course. And of course it had the again expected Yoda hovering making semi-cryptic statements.
But truthfully, I question this. There were what, five direct attempts at lame humor just to get the viewer to think of this as a comedy? I'll pay my money to see an epic drama of galactic proportions (half-pun). I doubt I'll be paying it to see this stretched, poor attempt at bad humor through the abuse of characters we've all grown to love (insert requisite jarjar statement).
For clarification, the files created through this use the RealPlayer VirtualInk plugin. The board system used by this teacher is actually Mimio (by Virtual Ink (redirects to mimio.com)), not smarttech.
Retaliation appreciated with humor. But, on that issue, we've got several different versions on the way, each of which is less graphic and code intensive.
I run the website for a somewhat large school district and have had some experience with Mimio. The way it saves the files is somewhat half-logical, but it works well with Real Servers (with which I have no experience) and regular webservers. The archive version of the files works great for dispensing, with a small modification of the smil file referencing the audio and video portions of the presentation.
As of right now the single teacher with the Mimio hardware has about 28 math lessons online. The teacher is now uploading her lessons almost daily, and it looks like everything is working out quite well. For an eleven minute presentation the audio takes up about 1.4 megs while the video takes up only 42k.
Overall this seems like a great system. Looking at the video files, almost every stroke the teacher makes on the whiteboard shows up. I'd love if all of my teachers put their lectures online with this.
Our connection probably can't handle a direct/. link, but the school district is in Rockford, Michigan and the teacher's page is listed under East middle school.
The new iMac, which Time took for an exclusive test run recently and which will be unveiled at the annual Macworld convention in San Francisco this week, could be just the thing
Could it be purposeful? [Well, except for the datestamp of the 14th...]
Alright all you @home folks who are rejoicing that you're still online, to quote from the first linked article:
"A federal bankruptcy court judge in San Francisco today said that the broadband network of Excite@Home can be shutdown on Friday at midnight PST (3:00 AM EST) if a deal with its cable partners and creditors is not reached, sources at the proceedings tell Dotcom Scoop."
It will stop functioning at 3:00 AM, NOT 12:00AM. Got another 2.5 hrs before any real rejoicing.
As an amusing followup to my own comment, I can attest for the fog cover in Michigan. Fog cover was thick from Grand Rapids, up through Big Rapids, over to Mount Pleasant, and down and back to GR. Glad to hear others had good experiences though. Still somewhat angry at that pop machine that wouldn't give me my pop.
As I'm sure many other/. readers can attest [at least all you Wolverines...] it's foggy here. Been like this for the past couple hours, in fact so much that I can not see a star in the sky. Hopefully it will clear up before peak @ 4.
Perhaps regarding my vague conceptions (not intricate details, mind you)- but if you imply that I should not comment, I disagree. Boring, ordinary comments like mine are what 'scores' are designed to place in the shadows for most folk.
I have to say that this was dead-on. My favorite scenes in the book were always in the dining hall, and this was a perfect hit there.
I had fears going in that the movie would contrast with my mind's eye perspective, but they were unjustified. This really was a great film - definitely recommend.
This search engine is already self aware.
Aren't you familiar with PigeonRank(tm)?
This has been a source of entertainment... especially when trying to block out the far too *REAL* rude solos.
Oh the joys of being a auditorium tech. Never been so critical of performers (I am one as well) in my life.
Reading a history of the screw and screwdriver...

Pretty simple logic, sorry you're disgruntled.
Perhaps this comment is true, but it looks like a standard MS Word 'Give a company a bad report' Wizard.
If it's true, then to the poster I say this: good luck.
And so does 98.

Taking the number for the edge of the disk to be 188m/sec, we get...
188m/sec (60sec/min)(60min/hour) = 676800m/hour
676800m/hour (1km/1000m) = 676.8km/hour.
At 23C, speed of sound = ~345m/sec.
So, about 677 km/h, and about 55% the speed of sound. End result = still wouldn't want your lens touching this.
Thanks
Well, everyone knows that as electronics get colder they slow down. Duh. Next time, *think before you post!*

Congratulations Rob & Kathleen!
Hey Rob - where's the gift registry? Or would you just like us to purchase everything available on ThinkGeek and send it over...?
Can you imagine a beow^H^H^H^H geekier way to propose? (except perhaps writing it in the source code and waiting for her to check it...)
So, is it OK to send in two of the same comment/opinion?
Here's another article, too! (good source, promise)

Ah, thanks for the IP. I wasn't willing to put forth the effort you did :)
Only 2:25 left before deadline.
I must say though, it is an oddly conspicuous time for help.broadband.att.com to go down...

It's 3:00 EST, 12:00 PST. You've got another 2 hours, like me.
Indeed. I can vouch for this in most of southwest->central michigan and back. gotta love road trips.
