So, anyone have any recommendations for less-retarded registrars which might actually deserve my money?

Net Neutrality I really can't care about... You're more than welcome to continue not caring about net neutrality, and then some day down the road you won't be able to read Slashdot's "opinionated" articles because your telco is dropping all your packets from Slashdot due to your limited "Internet Silver" subscription which only supports the top 200 major websites. Slashdot will also be switching to 80% banner advertisements in order to pay off your telco so they'll stop dropping all the packets originating from Slashdot.
I'm a construction worker and the other day I was thinking about baking a cake. As it turns out, I'm having a heck of a time finding a cake-batter mixing machine that runs on diesel.
ebgames/gamestop allow 4 (at least at the store I was at this morning) employees get dibs on pre-orders. Pretty much every store around here had 12 pre-orders available, the store I was at had 9 available to the public upon opening, thankfully I was #5 in line, I guess waking up at 6am was worth it although I really doubt they'll only get 12 units in at launch, at least I've got one reserved for me.
I've been faithfully swinging by my local EBGames every couple days on the way home from work to see if they're taking pre-orders yet, and of course they're not yet but I was told that they should know sometime this week exactly when they will be. I was also told that instead of pre-ordering a Wii, I should just pre-order a Wii game... How does that help me get a Wii? Heck if I know.
While I enjoyed the game, I was slightly disappointed by the length. I managed to beat it in under a week and that's with my very random/opportunistic DS use. Although the multiplayer is pretty fun.
It's only in Hawaii, everyone hates it. When it's time for them to take nation-wide pre-orders I think we can assume that their stores would be torched if they did such a thing.
It's all in clever labeling, if they had called it Network Traffic Prioritization and Bias Act, people would still be against it.. except, they'd be for the Net Neutrality act, because it's a double negative, or something.
transcript: Are you google-eyed with confusion over net neutrality? No wonder, it's all just clever mumbo jumbo. Net neutrality is nothing more than a scheme by the multi-billion dollar silicon valley tech companies, to get you, the consumer to pay more for their services. Forget all their mumbo jumbo, net neutrality simple means, you pay.
Is this kind of stuff driven by Sony's PR dept? I remember before the PS2 was released, there were stories on the evening news about the dangers of them being used for missile guidance systems by other countries, because it was SOOOOOO POWERFUL!OMGZ! Obviously everyone is all anti-war, so now they're playing the "PS3 IS SO POwerFUL IT cUrEZ DISEASES SO FAST!" route. It all seems a little odd to me.
And they're already talking 20+ titles available at launch, and I'm pretty sure all of them are using the Wiimote in interesting ways. Plus I won't have to sell my car to get one.
I concur on the New Super Mario Bros. Recently I've been playing Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble, I actually didn't like it much at first but once I figured out how to do slow-mo and deflect enemy projectiles it started getting fun, it's also got some tricky puzzles involving splitting and flipping the screens with the stylus. I'd say it's definately worth picking up, especially for the $20 price tag.
I'm looking forward to the releases of Contact and Final Fantasy III, and most likely picking up Starfox Command on my way to work this afternoon.
Seeing as I've not purchased one, I can't really verify my statement, but there was a flurry of articles a few months back in regards to the Wii devkit price. I also read somewhere that a few smaller game dev houses recieved free devkits from Nintendo. Although you're probably right about the strings attached part.
Apparently the Wii dev kits are under $2000, which is rather affordable for a dev kit. Although nothing beats free, I'd imagine it's rather difficult to develop and test a Wii game on a PC (with the controller being unusual and all).
Well, my boss referred to it as "Bubanti" the other day, but he also shortens "Christopher" to "Christ", so.. I think he may have some sort of actual mental problem.
A story such as this appears the day after I saw a man "operating" a motorcycle with an attractive lady on the back, both of them obviously far too hip to wear helmets, and he was USING A FREAKING CELLPHONE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC..
I say, stop these "studies" immediately, otherwise we may not have as many interesting darwin award inductees.

local fire dept. got a bunch of those ruggedized panasonic laptops
Hidden underground tunnels on mars eh? We need chainsaws, posthaste!
And the "hidden tunnel" link in the article didn't point to doom 3 screenshots, slashdot impresses yet again.

the Wii is $250, but $50 was the minimum pre-order downpayment

So this game is like everyday work, except with an imaginary goal.
Wait, how is this game different from everyday work?

Don't forget "Super Skidmarks: Speed Burritos"
