  1. A tad frightening on Hidden FBI Microphones Exposed In California (cbslocal.com) · · Score: 1

It's frightening that a federal group paid with taxpayer dollars, that was instituted to protect the law, now seems to break it with impunity. I fear for our future as it doesn't look like anyone is protecting the people anymore.

  2. Wrong info shown on Microsoft Auto-Scheduling Windows 10 Updates (tomshardware.com) · · Score: 4, Funny

Windows 10 was released almost ten months ago, not eight. Fortunately that leaves just under two and one half months, not four, until the anniversary update after which strong arm upgrade tactics should stop.

  3. The stop-producing-people mentality may eventually lead to a let's-remove-a-few-billion-freeloaders series of wars. I trust neither governments or corporations to look out for the masses. The civil war in Syria may be typical of what other countries might do to reduce population and, at the same time, create a rebuilding economy. People need to work, not collect welfare.

It was a part of Windows Live, which contained a group of programs that were better than the ones built into Windows, that was upgraded to Windows Live 2011 and finally to Windows Essentials 2012, which you can still download and install today at http://windows.microsoft.com/e... . The 2012 version was pretty nice. Our shop used to install it on all the Windows 8 PC's that we sold. With webmail so popular we only load it when customers still on XP ask us to move Outlook Express over. Windows Live Mail imports the .wab contacts and the Identities email folders perfectly. Now, Microsoft had to go and break something else. They seem to be hell bent on moving casual consumers away from Windows. It really is odd behavior.

So, the news is that Microsoft intends to do what they said they would do one year ago. Microsoft keeping their word is indeed news. And the $119 price is only what they want you to pay. NewEgg puts the Home version on sale for $79 often. There is no compelling reason for users to upgrade from the far more bug free Windows 7 and 8.1 (ugly sure, but more bug free), to Windows 10.
