Everything in the game smacked of polish, polish, polish.
Except - for my part - the interface, the fonts are far too small. Though there was a scaling feature it didn't work well enough to allow me to read a lot of the screens. Funny how so many games allows you to set resolution, but not font size.
None of that has anything to do with the study. They observer equal sized groups and statistically the ones who were more in front of computer screens developed this.
I don't see why a TV station couldn't put whatever bugs they want in the corner and include commercials with their downloads (people will find a way to skip them however hard they make it to fast forward, but then what else is new? People have been doing that for years with VCR's, nevermind TiVo).
And it would be easy to make a 'custom build' for the user. Require users to create a profile. On the server each act is seperate, based on the users profile they select the commerials (which of course are prerendered) auto join the lot and allow people to download. If you get something with commercials you feel are somewhat relevant to you, you would probably be less inclined to skip them.
while those who massacre and desecrade them should be revered for defending their arab right should be praised?
When you spew crap like that it only proves you have been brainwashed. People are objecting to all the innocents who suffer.
We are honestly trying to help the iraqi people.
By forcing your way of living on them - a lot of them don't like that. Most don't want a democracty, they want a theocracy...and we are being slaughtered while we do so.
Because they don't want you there - blame your president for sacrificing your lives for nothing.
And if not nothing then very little, because it presence is creating terrorists. Violence begets violence, the only way to solve that would have been with diplomatic means. A lot of little (orphaned) kids are wrong up hating the US - 20 years from now they'll blow something - and those that whine about being innocent then - could they have done something now?
I'm sorry, but you can't use the Schmeiser trial as evidence that the practice of saving seeds is going to be criminalized. The Supreme Court ruled that he knowingly kept and propagated Roundup Ready canola that he hadn't paid for.
Bullshit - something blows unto his land and they extort him for it for life (because he can't get rid of it because it is resitant to wheed killers!) damn those imoral creeps keep spreading as well. What a world.
"The U.S. regime will most likely criminalize the use of the olds seeds. "
Do you have any evidence for this claim, or is it just something you had to make up to feel comfortable with your personal, pre-existing point of view?
Wow what a clever question. He makes a guess about the future and you ask for proof - duh!
But its an educated guess based on the greed situation of the world - of cause they will. As is evidenced by that link he provided. Companies already have "coyright" over fields because they worked out some genetic stuff (that might hurt the environment in the long wrong).
Sixth. The cd does not need to be in the drive to play. You don't even need the cd to install it. Just type in the cdkey into steam and it will download it and install it.
Beep - wrong (Unless you use the crack/cheat/runaround on the net which makes it cd less) - it does check, because Valve likes to annoy those who pay them.
Ninth. Afaik, there are no cracked copys of hl2 on the web yet, so if you were a cruminal, you still wouldn't be playing.
Apparently it is - (though wanted to download and check (and make myself a criminal in the process) )
Tenth. Offline mode is enabled for the game when it is completely downloaded from online or installed. Just start steam without a inet connection enabled and it will start in offline mode and you can play away.
Beep - wrong. It will always to connect, and if you block it via a firewall you'll get a plaintive messagebox saying it it couldn't connect and if you want to continue in offline mode - ie more trouble.
I think your only valid complaint is that their servers are overloaded, which is a valid complaint, but don't make it worst then it is.
Another complaint, though i don't know if he made it, is that they use this system at all.
The VCR originally beat the laserdisc (and destroyed RCA in the process) because people wanted the ability to record.
And now the go on the internet and download it instead.
The article even has a summary of the VCR that talks about how people loved the ability to record. Apparently, the author's microscopic mind couldn't make the connection that DVD players don't have that ability yet.
You think that's whats going to happen? My guess would be that most don't give a damn, and that a lot simply sees this as a chance to stick it to micro$oft.

Do your job right - mod up not down.
It so sad...

Interesting. I rarely forget where i put files because i use a heirarchical filesystem. It's really quite efficient. I recomend it.
Just a reminder: Microsoft is Microsoft.
Fantastic story. Which book is that?
No. In fact, ever since I added our phone number to the federal do-not-call list, telemarketing calls have in fact stopped
...the conversation goes something like this:
;)
Yeah, and it only took, what 50-60 years before they finally got around to that?
Wouldn't it be quicker just to say: "Piss off" ?
There is nothing wrong with a company wishing to protect its investment, and to be paid for its product.
Actually yes there is in the current system, its by no way fair.
Don't forget Firefly also by Joss Whedon - its fantastic :)

When someone tries to charge something like $700 for some plastic material with IP produced in 87-94.. i think that's close to robbery.
"intellectual property" is always robbery - never forget.
See that over there?
:)
That is the boat, you have missed it.
Damn, you've got good eyes!

I appreciate all the protestors, they remind me that everything I am doing is right.
If you think you do nothing wrong then you are part of the problem not the solution.

I could spend an hour just throwing television sets out windows at the police on the ground.
Where the hell did you find that many tv sets?!

Sure.. but here is a primer for the slow: YOU. DON'T. GET. TO. CHOOSE.
As a consumer your options are limited to 'buying it' or 'not buying it', now take your lithium you whiny girl.
Ah, but if he doens't buy it they will claim he has pirated it and introduce even worse crap. He can't win.
And oh yes, he can get to choose: By voting wisely so the laws can be changed.
...just copied...
Don't blame Valve, blame the crackers and the hackers
Why? Valve are the ones who did this - they are to blame.

Not at all, but even you need to have something to do.
