The hack to turn the GeForces into Quadros worked for the GeForce 2s. I've still got my GeForce 2 GTS which I turned into a Quadro... it does make differences, I remember benchmarking it back in the day.
Really, Do people need to upgrade their PDA's like this all the time?
My Palm IIIe served me well for several years, and I just replaced it with an M125. I don't think I ever filled up all of the 1 meg of space on the III, and I would have a hard time doing so.
There really aren't that many good games out their for it, I tried using it to read books, but it sucked batteries.
I've been wanting to do the same thing with an old P120 around my house and a couple old HD's.
The only thing that has held me back (well I'm also broke) is the thought that everytime you hit a pot-hole, your going to tear your disk to shreds. I've been thinking of a way around this, such as suspending it by springs from the roof of the trunk, or pacckaging it in bubble wrap, but it still seems like it would get quite a jarring.
Also what about heat, it doesn't seem like an already old PC would last very long in a hot car and/or trunk, what would be the solution? Just use a lot of fans?
I know how we could give Cue-Cat a bad name.
Use their software and write a script to continually think it was scanning in (everytime it scans something it reports to their website) a bunch of Sex Toys.
That way when they look at their quarter reports or whatever they will get sued my every mother out-there who let little billy get a Cue-cat.
Just an idea
The local Oaks school has one of these (you go there the last 2 years of H-school if you want on the job training) for their Cad department.
It works basically by using a chunk of Plastic and melting it with a laser where it wants to shave of.
I also heard ( on Slashdot, I forget when)they wanted to put one of these in the space shuttle so they could make replacement parts in orbit.
Relax man,
While an Ak-47 would sound cool, I doubt any geek could fire it more than once or twice. Most geeks probably couldn;t fire a Shotgun (moreless pick it up) I myself get 4 outa 5 clay birds when I shoot out behind my house with my father.
I haven;t tried AOL cd's, first because my launcher wouldn;t throw them right. second because they would probably create some perty bad shrapnel.
Maybe someone could givve me a hand,I'm using Redhat and am trying to install glide. I'm using 6.2 , I install all the glide frivers just fine, but the But the Glide_GDK (or something, its for developers, but they say I need it for Mesa) just
says "Will not install" for some reason. The teast 3dfx works fine in X, but won't run from a command propmt, it gives me an error that it can't find my V3 board. Then I try to install a game (soldgier of Fortune) to run in X, but it gives me an error that is can't find my openGL software, what do I need to do?
Could someone give me their e-mail that has experience with this so I can get some help?
Thanks
AY MEN BRotha!!
I know, I think its redicoulas that in order to install something for Linux you have to download 2-3 or even 5 (rpms of Mesa, I just did it) and install them in a certain order, why not just have one file to download with all the stuff, and only one file to set-up!

A friend of mine just bought a Voodoo5 5500 and he says it kicks his Geforce256 up and down!
He said he played Quake3 in 1600x1200 with all the pertys turned on and get a fps of around 80 or so!
Sounds like a good Card!!!!
My v3 will have to last me for a while though cause I just bought a new car and am outa money.
Besides Does Linux have support for the V5 yet???
and I have heard nopthing about a v4? Are they making one? O is like Slack? from 4.x to 7.x?
I kinda wired my house this last june.
What I did was set up as server (Shelf) in my room, which is the attic, then ran cat-5 from there to the basement, then through a crawspace to my moms office, then ran one to my sisters room across the hole from the door to my attic. On the end of each line I have a nice little box with the RJ-45 connector which has sticky tape on the back and is stuck to the bottom of the wall, my "shelf" is just a piece of board that goes between my wall and a hand-rail that is part of the stare-case to my room, on which sits a linksys 10bps hub and a pent.75 (running Caldera 2.2) which is pulling web-server duty (which I don't leave on all the time) and is soon to pull Squid and fire-wall duty when I get road-runner.
I really wish I had a Server closet, and I kinda wish I would have ran rg-6 so that when I get Roadrunner I can tap into the line and get cable on several TV's, but I can always run it later, running the Cat-5 only took a day and 1/2.
Can you make the old BSD computer an FTP server?
Then you could just ftp the files over to the new computers.
I don't know if this was exactly what you were looking for though
What about an extension of your own number, so like when you call home it is "Press 1 to leave a message for Logan, 2 for Fred, 3 to interface with my palm"?
Yeah, I went to Shawnee State U in Ohio, and the whole of Portsmouth was bought out by Pepsi.
The whole Campus was bought out by them, and you couldn't find a coke machine or a store that sold Coke within a 2 mile radius of the Campus.
It sucked when I was hooked on diet coke
Would it be like a noahs ark kinda thing with only a male and female from each species, or would we need a greater genetic diversity.
I would think do, because If you were to thaw these things out later on, we'd be screwed because they'd be cross-bred in one generation
I Did the same thing.
Ran Plenum from 3rd story attic to the basement, and through a crawspace and up under the floor, I ran it from my shelf in the attic (which is my room) around the corner on the floor and into a perty box, and I ran it to my sisters room. Now I'm ready for BroadBand As soon as I get it. The hub Sits on a shelf overtop the spiral Staircase to my room, but I have the lights taped over so I can sleep at night.
I'm sure its been said, buut hhis will take Overclocking to new heights!!!!!!
I found a webpage one time were a guy actually fried an egg over a p120 heatsink by dumping the egg right into the heatsink, sorry I lost the page, I just reformatted my harddrive:-(

How is this Redundant? Who else said this before me? BEsides, it was just a joke
Whats also fun to do is let the cd sit on top of a high-intensity lamp, it will melt the cd into a nifty 1337 Hackerz Change Bowl
