I think it is a reference to phraseology used by Starbucks' founder, but Starbucks never claimed to have "introduced" them. (In other words, the blogger didn't clarify that he was simply providing Schultz' definition of "third place.")
That or the blogger is an idiot, it's hard to tell.
He says he may eventually pursue law school as a part-time student
If he's in such a hurry to finish everything else, why go to law school as a part-time student? Current ABA regulations permit you to finish in no less than 24 calendar months (maximum 5 years).
Ohio election law requires a paper audit trail for every ballot cast.
What bothers me more about Ohio right now is the fact that apparently Ken Blackwell doesn't see any problem with sitting as Secretary of State while overseeing his own election for Governor. He should resign or temporarily step down as Secretary of State until after the November election.
they followed the construction workers to the pub where they tried to pick up women.
I find understanding the human element of what goes into a building to be just as important as the physical characteristics of the building itself. They could just tell you what goes where and how it got there, but part of how it got there is the story of the people who put it there. Can you really appreciate all of the goods on the shelf at your local store if you don't reflect on the fact that without all of the people involved in getting the raw materials into what you see on the shelf, you wouldn't have anything, and then looking at what those people experienced while they were doing their "job" and getting you that product?
(As an aside, I wonder how much of each dollar spent at Wal-Mart goes towards prostitutes for truck drivers?)
On a somewhat related note, a number of states are putting much more weight into the credit history of bar applicants when determining whether a particular person is fit to practice law. (If it's bad enough, i.e. multiple bankruptcies and no plan to get out of debt, people have been found unfit to practice law and ineligible to take the bar exam). I see more of a connection in that situation than for the average engineer, scientist, IP job, etc. Lawyers are responsible for an incredible amount of money which does not belong to them. If you're irresponsible with your own money, why should you be trusted with another persons?
Rule 11 does not apply to discovery. There are separate sanctions in regards to discovery violations, but none of them are criminal (nor are Rule 11 sanctions criminal).
They let me know if my candidate needs more help, so I know whether to give him more money and start knocking on doors, or if I can focus on another candidate that needs my help instead.
Actually, "terrestrial" would mean "of the earth". A "terrestrial planet" would mean a planet that is on the surface of the earth somewhere. Kind of an awkward usage actually.
but to suggest that emailing someone is equivalent to trespass
Trespass to chattels (personal property) is what they are probably referring to, which is different than trespassing on real property. Another way to think of it would be "interference with personal property." In other words, by spamming these servers, the spammers have deprived the owner of the full use of his property and therefore he should be compensated appropriately.
Similar to the argument made by Intel in Intel v. Hamidi. Although, I think Intel lost that one, but it was on a much smaller scale and the California Supreme Court basically said unless the computer system is damaged or has its functioning impaired, the plaintiff would be SOL.
Concerning same-sex marriage, if I may, the First Amendment should protect it if it's performed in a church, but I don't think any court has tried making this point.
The problem isn't the legality of performing a same-sex marriage, the problem is getting the state to recognize it. It's not illegal to go to a church and get married if you are the same sex. However, almost all states prohibit them from getting any of the "benefits" or other privileges given to married people whose marriages are recognized by the state.
In other words, if you marry someone of the same sex, your marriage can be valid between the two of you, but don't expect to be able to collect your departed's Social Security check, to get half of their stuff in a divorce, etc.
Shouldn't you work that out before putting it up on the front page?
I'm sorry you must be new here. The "editors" have never actually "edited" anything. They just add a few comments and click a button. For actualy "editing" to take place; well, I'm not sure what the obstacle is.
Berkeley Data Systems cannot guarantee complete security. Further, while we take reasonable steps to ensure the integrity and security of our network and systems, we cannot guarantee that our security measures will prevent third-party "crackers" from obtaining this information.
Okay, where do I go to start uploading all of my sensitive and personal information ASAP?
So you're the bastard that hasn't been paying for coffee. By the way, you ARE stealing from your co-workers, because we're the ones who buy the coffee.
Easy. Pass a law/constitutional amendment which states that all amendments to a bill must be germane to that bill.
Starbucks "introduced" third places?

it is time we moved away from the old "lowest bidder" contract award system.
Then why are all these lefty-loonies whining about Diebold "promising to deliver" Ohio in 2004?
The paper trail is only useful if you actually use it. Right now the State of Ohio is trying to destroy all of the 2004 ballots, pending a lawsuit.

How do poll results help (real) voters?

So, are places like Dayton that still have electric (trackless) trolleys ahead or behind the times?

Another link regarding a recent documentary on the group at Dayton: Dayton Codebreaks.
Well, if you have a shovel and a lot of time, supposedly there are also a number of them buried along the banks of the Great Miami River in Dayton.

I've never seen what the problem with emo was.
The problem with emo is that it has turned an entire generation into drama queens.

Only until November 7th.
