    I tried it, and found that Gator works better- recognizes more forms, takes less space on my desktop.

    Not sure. I googled for "paasword export IE" and found one advise to save a registry key, that ,author thinks, may work. With Gator export is done with 3 mouse clicks.

    I don't beleive Gator will transfer my password file to their servers. Too little to gain, too much to lose. Besides, I don't store really important passwords, like online banking or /. account :)

    But if you looking for a ticket on Expedia, you probably will click on a pop-up promising lower fares at Orbitz. Well, may be you won't, but 99% of web users will.

    Gator does it better than IE, and it has more features: different profiles, ability to save password file and copy it to another machine.

    I've been using Gator for about 3 years, and I am happy with it. I put *.gator.com in Proxomitron block file, and I don't see any ads, none at all. Gator's password saving and form filling features are not perfect, but at least acceptable. My only complaint is a relatively large memory footprint.

    ...however in nearby Baltimore, MD metro ticket machines accept coins only, including $1. You need to chnage paper $$ into the coins to get a ticket.

    He didn't ask how to stop the service. He wants to know if he can make it accessible only from a local subnet. I think he even knows that there are things like routers and they can use ACLs, but he wants to do limit Messenger access by tweaking configuration of his computers. I doubt it is possible.

    I have a Fujitsu P1110, and there are some things where it can't be touched by PDAs:
    1 Watch movies from HD
    2 Listen to music (a lot of it)
    3 Store pictures from digicam
    4 Navigation with all the maps you want
    5 More or less normal keyboard
    6 1024x600 display
    I noticed that it is 4x size of a PDA, but I need the functionality PDA can't provide

    I used to have Toshiba Libretto with 800x400 screen. 400 pixel isn't enough to dispaly some Windows XP dialog boxes. "Autohide" for taskbar helps in some situations. I upgraded to Fujitsu P1110, and I am mostly happy with it. Touchscreen really helps.

    Once I made several mistakes at the same time.
    1 Applied an access list to a wrong interface on a router
    2 Behind this router I put a Win2k computer, which had been configured for a private network. Computer name, admin account and password for this account was the same word.
    One day I found that this computer had a remote control software and FTP server installed on it. I wouldn't be surprised to find some kiddie porn few days later, so I think that the story makes sense.

    Once I read an article by a chemical engineer from a major battery power. He said they are lucky to improve capacity by 5% a year on average. If batteries were improving like CPUs, regular AAs could store energy of a nuke.
