I'd dispute the zero human contact in a game where millions of people play. In the MMORPG I used to play loads of people have met in the real world and people who 'met' first in the game have dated and even married in the real world and I don't doubt that WoW will also have its real life meetings.
MMORPGs are no more anti-social than web message boards, blogs, MSN or any of the other newer forms of communicating with strangers. Yes there are anti-social weirdoes involved but there are many more average joes and janes (more joes than janes though more's the pity :P).

One of the disadvantages of respecting human rights is that you have to respect the rights of all humans, not just the ones you approve of. Treating criminals like animals may seem right in the short term but that leads to all sorts of unpleasant consequences, from prison riots to abuse of people with the 'wrong' political opinions.

Knowledge and capital need a lot less space than large numbers of humans moving from the many poor countries to the very few rich ones. Free movement of labour isn't practical when most of the labour would want to move to a fairly small area of the planet. I would never blame anyone wanting to come to the EU; it's a very nice place to live in comparison to most of the world, but we don't have infinite living space here.

And given that most languages have GUI designers now that would make them all toys, which, having learned C++, makes me wonder what sort of toys you had as a child :P

You know I hear the same crud about political correctness over here but I'm at a loss to see why children not being able to read, write or do simple sums in their heads after several years at school has anything to do with political correctness. I'd be more inclined to look at teaching standards, clueless meddling by politicians or children having poor concentration due to eating bad food/too many distractions/bad parenting rather than whether or not the word 'fail' is used anymore. After all if you get crap grades in your exams it doesn't matter if it doesn't say 'fail' on the certificate: you won't find it any easier to get a job.

You think there are no virus writers wanting to stick it to smug Mac/Linux users? You think no-one would take the time and effort to annoy them?
