For long horizontal stretches, slingshots can be your best friend. (sounds stupid, but it works)

A lot of your problems will depend on the width of the conduits...so try to run the wire all at once in bundles to make life easier.

That's all i've got for now. peace.

  9. ahhh....gotta love the internet. on Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Lego · · Score: 1

finally, something to put my faith back behind the human race. figures it was monty python that did it. hehe.
    on a more sensible note:
i've read a few comments bashing both monty python and lego in the preceding threads. these people just simply need to understand that lego is news for nerds, and monty python IS stuff that matters. the original python stuff was mostly political satire and the like. it was funny...but it was also relevant. although it may have lost some of that relevance in its move across the pond to the states, the ideas behind the python group live on...the social satire melded into hilarious comedy. its something that works. don't bash it.
as for lego...we all grew up on lego. as we get older, the company seems to offer more and more toys for us to use...and we, as a community, seem to come up with more innovative ways to use them. personally, i believe that lego promotes problem solving ability as well as sheer fun. as i've said previously: don't bash it.
thus, only one conclusion can be drawn from this:
MONTY PYTHON FSCKING ROCKS THE LEGO HOUSE!

Unfortunately, although it is a bit hypocritical of me, considering what I use Napster for - downloading MP3's (mostly illegal ones) I suppose that I would have to agree with the judge on this one. You know it, I know it, and unfortunately the judge knows it. Were Napster to just support generic file transports, rather than merely MP3's, the grey area would be a bit larger. Unfortunately, the only file format that Napster will transfer (without such tools as Wrapster) is MP3. And, as we all know...most of them, probably about 90% or more of these are illegal. I'm not saying that I don't love Napster for it's ease of use and plethora of features...but they certainly knew what its primary use should be, and I'll have to side with the judge. Of course, I still say piracy is a nonissue....if I download it, I doubt I would have bought it in the first place. Oh well. Don't flame too much.

  25. Bandwidth Constraints and other barriers. on VDSL Demoed · · Score: 1

sure, the technology may be available soon. However, i'm convinced that very few telcos will distribute vdsl to the consumers. The main reason: bandwidth. Currently, many xdsl lines run into one t3 (or ever in some lowly cases, a t1). However, when the consumer expects bandwidth of 60 mbps, it won't take long for a t3 to be filled.

this brings up another concern: cost. will telcos charge outrageous prices for this new technology, if they provide it at all? certainly!

the great thing is that the modems for vdsl will be backwards compatible with adsl. this will allow consumers to purchase such a modem and use it for adsl, upgrading to vdsl when they (or their telco) see fit.
