    When metal burns, depleting it's oxygen supply doesn't always help. When I was in, the SOP for burning metal was to push it overboard and let it sink to the bottom where it could burn out safely.

    He seems directly in line with my own opinions of Django. It's really _not_ an MVC framework like many of it's users would have you believe.

    And does quite a bit of complaining about Django without completely demonstrating his point.

    One does not need to drink an entire glass of sour milk just to know it is sour.

    Ruby on Rails' RJS templates is exactly that. You write Ruby that is translated into Javascript calls. I've written a number of Javascript-driven Ruby on Rails apps without ever having written a single line of actual Javascript. You get a "page" object which represents the DOM, simple as can be.

    I guess you'll also want them to learn alchemy in their chemistry studies and astrology in their astronomy studies?

    Until creationism is proven using the scientific method it should not be taught at all. The time wasted on it could be better spent on real, repeatable science.

    I read this book last month. It is a _good_ book.

    My only complaint is that it is very wordy. I caught myself thinking several times "Yes, I get it.. can we move on now?"
